Question about Samsung HL-P5063W 50" Rear Projection HDTV
Todays date: 07-31-09. As to some of the other postings, my tv never gets a picture. It does turn on. Here is what I have done so far: I've replaced the bulb and the ballast. Same problem exists. I can hear the color wheel spinning. I am concerned that one of the two parts I've replaced is also bad. Does anyone know how much voltage the ballast should be putting out to the bulb. my multimeter is only showing a little over 13 volts. Also, is the small pigtail wire going to the ballast a switch that turns it on and off? If so, what is the part on the other end of that wire. Jeff M. firstname.lastname@example.org I am not going down without a fight with this TV!!!!
The Ballast voltage should 300 volts. You may have a problem on the power board. Possibly some bad capacitors. Look for the tops of the capacitors to be domed instead of flat.
