Question about Dishwashers

Bosch dishwasher Start Process

I recently purchased a Bosch dishwasher - SHE45M02UC/53. The only complaint I have is the proceedure required to start the dishwahser. The proceedure is as follows:
1. First I have to turn the power off
2. Next, turn the power on. Immediately the dishwasher start running. I can change the settings at this time.
3. Once the dishwasher completes it's cycle none of the front panel buttons work....until you turn the power off - and you are back at the first step above.

Bosch customer services says this is normal, but seems crazy to me.

Is this correct.

Lol...yes this is normal for a Bosch. They have several "safety" measures incorporated into their dishwashers. Look on the bright side they are one of the very best dishwashers on the market and are known for their longevity and quietness.

Bosh diswasher SHE45M02UC/48 doesnt stop when I open the door

That is the drain pump that is running, and it indicates that there is water in the base of the unit. You will need to unplug the dishwasher and pull it out. You can tip it forward to drain the water out of the bottom through the holes in front. Have some towels ready to catch the water. Now if you plug the dishwasher back in, the pump should not run But now comes the hard part - figuring out where the leak is coming from and fixing it. It could be from a hose, the drain pump, or the main pump. Bosch dishwashers are notoriously hard to work on, so I recommend calling in a professional DW repairman.

I have a Bosch automatic dishwasher,SHU43C05UC/17. Usually I love it; but recently my glasses are coming out cloudy and the tea stain remains on my cups. I have used two different dishwasher cleaners...

If you have hard water, glasses can look spotted and cloudy even after cleaning. Sometimes changing the dishwasher detergent can help. The easiest solution to clearing up glasses that start to look cloudy is to add some vinegar to the bottom of the dishwasher before you start a cycle. Simply add 1/4 of white vinegar and it will clear up your glasses very well.
You should see marked improvement after the first time you do this. If they are not crystal clear then simply repeat the process until all of the cloudiness is gone. In fact I recommend to using a little vinegar in each cycle to maintain the clarity of the glass.

Note: you can pre-test this by rubbing some vinegar on an individual glass with a cloth. If you cannot remove the cloudiness by soaking it and rubbing vinegar on it then it is possible that the glass is etched due to harsh or cheap dishwasher detergent and vinegar will not solve the problem.

Bosch dishwasher srs45e02. when I turn it on there is a loud growling noise for a while then it turns itself off. any ideas please. I think it could be the pump. thanks any help.

you could be correct as the proceedure for all dishwashers when started is a pumping phase to make sure no excess water is still in unit.. when finished water then flows in..

I am a builder. I installed my Bosch dishwasher.

Hello Gerry, There are two (2) ways to accomplish this. The easiest is to get some RV anti-freeze (enviromentally safe version) and put that into the bottom of the dishwasher as per the instructions. Then when you return in the Spring, just run an empty rinse cycle to purge the dishwasher of the anti-freeze solution.

The other method will require you to remove (pull out from under the cabinet) the dishwasher and (with power turned off!) disconnect the sump pump boot to drain the residual water out of the unit. In some models, there is a small drain plug that you can remove to drain the water out of the bottom sump (pump) section of the dishwasher.

Good that you thought of this, as many folks forget that leaving water in their appliances in freezing conditions can cause some major headaches from burst pipes, pumps, etc. if they aren't properly winterized for the freezing temperatures they'll get in an unheated building.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
