Abit IS7-E (Version 1.2? I see v2 though)

Larger photo,

Scroll down to about half page. Shows a large view of motherboard.

The front of your computer is the Front Panel.

The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the Main wires from the Front Panel go to; is the Front Panel header.

Motherboard mounted in computer case, the Front Panel is at the Bottom/Right corner.

Rectangular piece of plastic, with two rows of contact pins.

The Top row is numbered EVEN.
The Bottom row is numbered ODD.

Starting on the LEFT side, going towards the Right; Top row,
Pins 2, 4, 6, 8, No pin 10, 12, or 14. Pin 16. No pin 18. Pins 20, 22, and 24.

If the Pins were X's, and No pin was a Zero -> 0
,it would look like this;
X X X X 0 0 0 X 0 X X X

Going from LEFT side, towards the Right; Bottom row,
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, No pins 11, 13, Pins 15, 17, 19, 21, No pin 24.

X X X X X 0 0 X X X X 0

A) Pins 2 and 4 are for a Suspend LED cable. In otherwords do not use.

B) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch

C) Pins 16, and 20; are for a 2-wire Power On LED light.
Pin 16 is for the Positive wire.
If the PWR LED is dim when the computer is on, switch the wires around.

D) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED light.
Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the HDD LED is dim when the harddrive is active, switch the wires around.

E) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.

F) Pins 15, 17, 19, and 21 are for a speaker.
Pin 15 is Positive ( + ) Pin 21 is Negative ( - )

(May take a little longer with this one)

A PDF file will not show until fully downloaded ]

Does the motherboard accept 1gig high definition ram chips

The Abit IS7 motherboard only supports DDR RAM. So if you're thinking of upgrading, do not purchase DDR2 or DDR3, because your motherboard will only support DDR memory, at a maximum of 4GB.

I installed everything the CPU, RAM, and everything else. Connected all switches at the right places and the BIOS is on normal operation. I turn on the computer and its a blank screen nothing shows up....

ok, looking at the specifications All I can recommend is the following. double check the Video card to make sure it is properly seated and that it does not exceed the capabilities of the motherboard. 2 Disconnect everything from the motherboard except the CPU and case wiring/power supply and turn the computer on. If the system completes the post test, you will hear at least 1 beep and should hear several for the video card not being connected, then start installing components 1 at a time till you find the one causing the problem. Start with the Video card and then the ram as these are most likely where your problem is unless you have a faulty power supply which will be the problem if you don't get a completed post with nothing else connected.

Hi! I have a pc with abit is7-e2 motherboard.. And when i start the pc a red led turns on the board... There is no picture on the screen. I already checked the video card but its working

Just how did you check the video card if you get no image on the screen?
Try another monitor with your computer. If you still get no image, then it's your video card or another component.
If your computer will not pass the POST (power on self test) then you will not get any video output.
Culprits can be the hard drive, the CD, the memory, the motherboard, or the CPU. I would disconnect everything but the CPU, memory, and video and try to start it to narrow the problem. But first, try another monitor.
I've even seen a bad power supply that seems to work keep the video from working.

Abit IS7-E2 monitor wont display anything

is this a brand new motherboard?
do you have onboard graphics or a card?
without testing i couldnt say for sure but it sounds like you are not getting power to your graphics on motherboard.
this is usally a common issue for asus motherboards. not easy to fix.
if your motherboard is new i suggest a replacement from the seller.

Need help

if you have more than 1 device on the ribbon cable, make sure they are both on CS(cable select) or one is on master and one is on slave.

Next disconnect all the drives from the board and just hit the del key to enter the BIOS. Select advanced tab to make sure SATA is active, otherwise you will bypass any sata and go only to ide channels.

Once the sata is active, check boot sequence and select CD/DVD as 1st boot priority save and exit, on the reboot turn unit off and attach all cables to the board. Reboot.
