My washer will not turn on

I front load washer will not turn on. The dryer works and is plugged in the same outlet. We did laundry last night and it didn't show any signs of a problem... it's not the breaker, what else could it be?

IS there a control lock feature on this washer? Push the button and hold for 6 sec if it does. If it doent have this feature then forget what i just typed. Are there any LED lights on at all? DOes anything light up when you push the power on button.? If you know you have power at the outlet, i would assume its your control board. Slide the top panel off and if your handy with a volt meter you will have to do this check im about to tell you in order to determine if your board is bad. you need to follow where the cord comes into the washer and follow this wires to the control boar. If your getting 120Volts to the board, then its probably a bad board. Always becarfull when working on live voltage. hopefully this helps

Dryer stay hot

It's very possible your element shorted to ground causing the element to get constant currant from the wall outlet if it was hot without running, if thats the case you need to replace the heating element.

Waher will not turn on--no lights..nothing..outlet has power and water is connected. i washed loads last night.

We are experiencing a similar problem with our Bosch 500. The plug shows hot. I pulled out the plug and tested the wires, also shows hot. Our interim solution is to use an extension cord and plug into another outlet. So far so good. I wonder if the problem is upstream, maybe a weak breaker? We will be calling an electrician.

No panel lights!

Solution - MEASURE voltage in outlet with digital meter and if it is not ~115 V or very close do nothing - wait till it gets to norm.

Longer explanation:
I had similar problem today. Dryer fine, washer (front loader Affinity 6000) dead. Electric power there. Day before had no electricity for few hours. Turned out to be that this thing is sensitive to voltage. I have now from 101 to 103 volts and it needs something close to 115. I have almost disassembled it but it was hard to do and no manual on web (except to purchase for $15). So, after removing back paned and few screws from front I have turned my attention to my UPS I have for TV - it sometimes would blink with blue diode (means it is starting). I thought why... Then I have luminescent (energy saver) lamps around house and those are not sensitive to voltage so lights are fine. In bathroom however I have halogens and those seemed dim. This time I have looked at my tester again and noticed that it shows ~101.2 volts. So I am taking UPS from my TV and moving it to laundry, plug UPS to outlet, washer to UPS - washer still dead. I unplug UPS from outlet and washer comes alive...

Hope this helps.

Mildew/Stagnant water smell in washer

you know, this does happen.

run it on a full cycle, warm, with either of these in solution.

baking soda, at 1/10 concentration

non chlorine bleach, at 1/6 concentration

you most likely need to do this more than once, until your nose is happy.

Also, consider doing this at least once every 200 wash cycles.

essential oils have same effect, and do a nice anti microbial as well.

we did this in commercial laundries all the time, as part of standard health code compliance issues.

Bosch Washer

In due course they will land up in your outlet filter. It wuold be good to check all pockets, etc before loading the laundry into the machine.......I am talking about your washer; no comments about the dryer.
