Question about Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS Receiver
It sounds like you have your gps plugged into your computer with the usb cable and that what you are seeing on the gps screen indicates that the gps has communicated with the computer. This is exactly what should happen. However, you cannot use your nuvi as a gps in this mode and you cannot turn it off and on.

Not totally suer about this model, but a lot of GPS units have a little hole in the back that is a reset button. You will need a small pin or a pen. Something small enough to put in the hole. Push it in and it should reset. Hope this helps.
