Question about Philips 42PFL5603D 42 in. LCD HDTV
I purchased my Philips 1080p 42 inch LCD television about two weeks ago. I have a cable box that is HDMI ready (it has 1080 i right by the time display). I have an HDMI cable linking the cable box to the HDMI 1 input in the back of the television. Everything was working fine until about a few days ago when in the mornings when I turn the television on, the screen keeps alternating about every 20 seconds or so between the broadcasted picture and the black screen which reads HDMI 1 in the upper corner. When I called Philips, I was told to just use the component cables provided by the cable company and hook them from the cable box to the Component input on the back of the television. I find that this decreases the optimal picture quality. Any ideas on what could be happening or what I could do to fix the problem? Thanks in advance?
