Has it ever worked in the past? Let me know this first and then I can help you. There are tons of variables to consider when dealing with fans and the wireless remotes used to make them work.

You need to carefully take your remote apart and clean ALL contact points including electronic board and the rubber pad contacts with a pencil eraser. After cleaning contacts with the eraser, blow out eraser dust and put remote back together. If there is no issue at the fan, your remote should be operational once again!

Remote control codes for a hampton universal video and fan remote?

First of all start with the basics, Hampton remotes will only work with Hampton fans. If you have a different brand of fan then you need to get the complete remote kit with receiver unit. If you open up your remote, you will see a place you can select a code configuration. This should be set identical to the code configuration of the fan. You may have to take off the cover of the fan to see the code. Or keep changing the code configuration in the remote, until it starts working.

bring the remote control to the store and have its function tested with similar unit. if the control works fine then you have no choice but to take down the fan and have it repaired

HUNTER ceiling fan remote works with fan but not light

Unfortunately, you either have a faulty reciever or remote. A replacement will cost $30-$40 at homedepot2.gif. And it doesn't matter which is faulty because you can't purchase them seperately anyhow.

Light remote control stopped working

most of my fan controls have done this to me. you know the reciever is working cuz the fan works fine. you need to dis assemble the remote completely and clean the contacts for the light button. mine are two small black dots that seem to keep getting slimey and wont work till i clean them, then all works like brand new again.

good luck.

Fan runs then stops light comes on when it wants to

if the unit is equiped with a remote controller, its possible the remote could be shorting out from within the case, try removing the remote batterys from the remote control. if this is not effective, try reversing the white & black wire from main house power, also you must use the groung line as this may effect the controller inside the fan assy.

Fan and remote not working

If you haven't already done so, replace the remote's battery with a brand new one . Make sure the replacement battery is NEW AND UNUSED, AND WAS PURCHASED RECENTLY, SO IT IS FRESH. Make sure it is installed properly, making good electrical contact, and the proper polarity is observed. Was the remote dropped, sat on or stepped on? Was a liquid spilled on it? Did your pet chew on it? Are any of the buttons loose or stuck? If the remote seems ok, try removing 120 volt power from the fan by turning off the circuit breaker or fuse an your homes main electrical service box. Wait 30 seconds, then turn 120 volt power for the fan back on. This may reset the speed control in the fan unit. If it does not cure the problem, consult a professional electrician, or replace the fan, whichever is more cost-effective.

wait 30 seconds and turn 120

Remote control stopped working

Under the dome (where the electrical connections are) is the receiver unit for the fan. It could be that it is no longer working. Also the remote may have dip switches to change the frequency channel (sometimes located behind the batteries) check that these have not been changed or check they correspond to the receiver unit on the fan.
