Goto hp.com, click on drivers and downloads section, when on the downloads page, look on the right hand side, there will be a link to see if your PC qualifies for free repair by HP, the dv2000, dv6000, and dv9000 series laptops are having video problems and wireless card problems, and your PC may be one of the affected models, if so there is info provided to start the repair process, hope this helps, if so please give an appropriate rating. Thanks

Keeps rebooting

You probably have a mbr virus.

Download The following iso listed below. It is the latest version of the Kaspersky rescue disk. You need to burn it to a CD with a program like Imgburn (Which is also FREE like the iso file). Then you need to boot from the CD and run the scanner. It should fix you right up.

Hp dv9208nr with vist sp2, system keeps rebooting, screen stays blank, cant even get to bios

hi,

When the files in your system are corrupted, your HP laptop would reboot automatically. When the files which are required to run the Operating System like fonts under Windows FONTS directory are been smashed then your system's Operating System will force your HP Laptops to restart continuously. Thus in such a situation you would have to change the name FONTS in the Windows directory.

Trying to install new windows, dvd runs noisy, does not load and finally ejects. Is this repairable?

Yes. Use an external DVD drive with a USB connection temporarily to load programs. You can remove the broken drive from the laptop and have it repaired.

My HP dv9208nr laptop screen is black after I power it on.

Hi:
I am sorry to tell you that this series of HP laptops has a known problem with the video chip on the motherboard. There are thousands of complaints to HP about the DV9000 seriies laptop, and yours has the same sympoms that others have reported. HP extended the warranty on some, but most people lost their shirts. There are a few people who have had mixed success in repairing the motherboards, but often they have to get replaced. If you did a google search on yor laptop problem, you will find lots of info.
The bottom line is that your laptop is expensive to fix, and it is a known problem!

Rebooting constantly

tap f8 as the PC starts up and try the option "Last Known good configuration", if that doesn't work, try to enter safe mode using same procedure and try the system restore program when it prompts you,
Thanks for the feedback
