Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
Not sure what sort of solution but wanted to publicise what i have been going through. My HP laptop is full of problems from keys not falling off, to wireless card not working, to it crashing periodically and the shell falling apart. However the worst problem is that its running so hot, i cannot tough the keyboard and it turns any paper near it black. I have been trying to deal with HP on this. Its been a nightmare. Customer service is a joke. They are all talk when it comes to the warranty. I am not allowed to bring it to anyone else- all I am allowed to do is send it to Colorado (Im in East Coast of Canada) to get it "fixed." But of course, they repeat again and again that the risk is mine, if the computer is broken in shipment, its my loss. Plus I am forced to ship by UPS who regularily breaks things. I had no choice- I was forced to mail it away and take the risk after going to their head office customer expert team and getting no where- I was even told that if I didnt like it I was welcome to get a lawyer. I know I am not the only one with heating problems on this computer. I think people who are considering HP should know what they are getting into before they buy.
I can appreciate what you have been going through. Firstly before you post anything, you should have it insured.
The fact they have sold you an item which has become faulty during the warranty, renders them liable and they must either repair or replace the item.

Hey there, I am guessing that you are aware of the "enhanced warranty joke'? LOL. I have been talkng to a group of people who have been passing around a petition to try to start another class action suit against HP. My laptop is in 25 pieces right now and headed for the trash unless I decide to keep the parts. If you do get it back and it is working, it is extremely imperative, especially on these machines, to keep the heat sink clean. It is located in the back left corner and the dust builds on the inside side of the coils. If it is bad you need to take it apart to clean. If they send it back, make sure you have the latest BIOS version as this addresses the fan speed control issue (not a total fix at all) and hit that heat sink prob once a month with canned air if you leave it on all the time. There is a big problem with the heat disapation on these boards as a whaole so if you can do what you can to avoid it its best. DO NOT pay the insane prices for their parts and labor. If you have some bad parts let me know and I will help you locate and the HP website has pretty good step by step instruction if you need them. All the parts are relatively cheap. I paid $110 USD for a new motherboard (worked once, believe I have a shot HDD sending bad voltages out but found too late now just fed up with it) I cannot find the contacts for the petition at the momnent as they are on another machine but I will try to post them here for a later. Oh, I have heard all good things about sending your machine away, so hopefully it goes well for ya. My HP desktop crashed (Motherboard taking out power supplies) so no more HP in this house!! I am giving up on all boxed systems except there are not to many barebone or build kits for laptops, just asus and they are still limited.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

the one i use is in china and iam not saying anymore ,www.ecutool.com as not allowed to publicise on this site but i have downloaded a few programmes but in the end i do my diagnostics with a automotive multimeter and check for volts /frequency/dwell ect as most modern europeon vehicles use encrypted software so it renders most diagnostic equipment useless but with training on how to use the automotive meter i can sucessfully diagnose 99% of faults
