Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook

Not sure what sort of solution but wanted to let people know

Not sure what sort of solution but wanted to publicise what i have been going through. My HP laptop is full of problems from keys not falling off, to wireless card not working, to it crashing periodically and the shell falling apart. However the worst problem is that its running so hot, i cannot tough the keyboard and it turns any paper near it black. I have been trying to deal with HP on this. Its been a nightmare. Customer service is a joke. They are all talk when it comes to the warranty. I am not allowed to bring it to anyone else- all I am allowed to do is send it to Colorado (Im in East Coast of Canada) to get it "fixed." But of course, they repeat again and again that the risk is mine, if the computer is broken in shipment, its my loss. Plus I am forced to ship by UPS who regularily breaks things. I had no choice- I was forced to mail it away and take the risk after going to their head office customer expert team and getting no where- I was even told that if I didnt like it I was welcome to get a lawyer. I know I am not the only one with heating problems on this computer. I think people who are considering HP should know what they are getting into before they buy.

I can appreciate what you have been going through. Firstly before you post anything, you should have it insured.
The fact they have sold you an item which has become faulty during the warranty, renders them liable and they must either repair or replace the item.

Hey there, I am guessing that you are aware of the "enhanced warranty joke'? LOL. I have been talkng to a group of people who have been passing around a petition to try to start another class action suit against HP. My laptop is in 25 pieces right now and headed for the trash unless I decide to keep the parts. If you do get it back and it is working, it is extremely imperative, especially on these machines, to keep the heat sink clean. It is located in the back left corner and the dust builds on the inside side of the coils. If it is bad you need to take it apart to clean. If they send it back, make sure you have the latest BIOS version as this addresses the fan speed control issue (not a total fix at all) and hit that heat sink prob once a month with canned air if you leave it on all the time. There is a big problem with the heat disapation on these boards as a whaole so if you can do what you can to avoid it its best. DO NOT pay the insane prices for their parts and labor. If you have some bad parts let me know and I will help you locate and the HP website has pretty good step by step instruction if you need them. All the parts are relatively cheap. I paid $110 USD for a new motherboard (worked once, believe I have a shot HDD sending bad voltages out but found too late now just fed up with it) I cannot find the contacts for the petition at the momnent as they are on another machine but I will try to post them here for a later. Oh, I have heard all good things about sending your machine away, so hopefully it goes well for ya. My HP desktop crashed (Motherboard taking out power supplies) so no more HP in this house!! I am giving up on all boxed systems except there are not to many barebone or build kits for laptops, just asus and they are still limited.
Good Luck

I have a Canon Powershot A60. Has always worked well until recently my photos contain a green fluorescent like outline on some of the items in my picture.Looks like stalactites at times. Help!!

You've been pretty lucky. :)
I had an A75, loved it!
It lasted me about 4 years before I started to have problems. Sadly, at the time this wasn't publicised, so I wasn't aware of any free repairs.

Please take a look here, and see if there is a remedy available for your camera.

You can get a USB printer to connect to the notebook - what sort of printer do you want, you can get a good all-in-one that connects by USB cable very cheaply - I recently purchased a HP for under £40 in UK If you want wireless you will need a wireless router to connect it to to use on a network

I have an acer aspire 3680 and i am wanting to move files such s i tunes from acer c to acer d, i sort of know how to do this but how can i be sure that it has tranfeed over to acer d because i have done...

OPen the "my Computer" icon and click on "c' Drive, now resize it by draggina corner in, left click hold on the corner and drapg in. Now go back to the "my Computer" icon and click on the "D" Drive, do the same with that so you can fit both open windows next to each other. Now open the ITunes in the "C" drive and open the ITunes in the "D" drive. Now just left click and hold the file you want to move and drag it over to the other drive and let go when you have it where you want it. If you want to copy the file and not move it, right click on the file, choose copy, right click on the folder where you want to copy the file and choose paste. Now you can watch and explore where your files are going.

I have a 1999 Chevy blazer. The engine ticks and can get to the point where I think my engines going to die. I've been told that it might be the ignition coil or a spark plug problem. I want to know what...

not sure on this ,really need to hear the tick to know what the problem is ,but yes it could be the coil pack shorting out inside ,but again this is a hands on sort of job and i would ask a local mechanic to have a look before you waste money changing un necessary parts

Microsoft excel

I'm not sure what you mean exactly...

Do you want to sort an existing excel worksheet?
Or do you want to change a cell value depending on the class of students.
You can use if for the latter.
Otherwise just use sorting in excel.

Please explain what you want to do exactly...
