Question about RCA Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have an RCA 38-inch HDTV (F38310). While watching, it began scanning through all the options (vcr1, vcr2, directv, etc.). The volume bar also popped up and the sound was turned down. I couldn't control the sound or anything else with the remote (I changed batteries). Then couldn't turn off tv either with the remote or the TV on/off button. Uplugged TV and then couldn't turn it on. Uplugged it again and let it sit for a day. Turned it back on, and it came on but it started doing the same thing as described above. I watched it for about 5 minutes...if that long...before it started. Can't change channels or anything.

I need to know how to program an old rca CRK76AD1 surround remote that works a tv, vcr1, vcr2, dvd, am/fm, cd, tape,sat-cab

1. Turn on the component to be programmed.
2. While keeping the corresponding Source Button pressed (like TV, VCR1, VCR2, DVD, etc.), enter the 4 digit code for the device using the number buttons.
3. Release the component button, then press ON-OFF to see if the component will be turned off.
4. If this does not work, repeat steps 2 & 3 by trying to use the next code (if available) listed for the brand of your component until the component responds to the remote command.

Other inputs not working on rear projection toshiba

check for progressive scan and interlaced setting also verify if you have component hook up that it auto maticall chooses your resolution because if your tv is waiting for 1080i and you send 1080p it will not always work and if it expects 1080i and you send it 480i(s-video or rca connection) it may not automatically flip

Channels and inputs change by themselves

sometimes unplugging it from the wall for a few minutes or even overnight can fix weird issues like this.

also, there is a small chance that a new channel scan thru the menu system might refresh the channel memory and clear it up.

this series of TV's are prone to a lot of problems tho, so it will likely soon be time to start shopping around.

How to set up to copying a video tape.

This is a snap, as long as you have a second VCR if not you can't do it.

1. Hook the out put line(s) from VCR1 to the input line(s) on VCR2.
2. Put recorded tape into VCR1 and press play.
3. Set VCR2 to the channel that VCR1 is playing on, it's usually 3 or 4.
4. rewind the recorded tape and put the blank into VCR2.
5. Press record on VCR 2 and play on VCR1.
if you want an exact copy stop here. . . or
6. pause VCR2 when ever something comes up you don't want to record, ie a commercial if you'r re-recording a movie from TV. be for warned though each time you re-record an analog recording, like a VHS tape, the audio and vido tracks get further and further apart. After about the second or third time you re-record a tape you'll hear something before you see it, or vice-versa. I hope this helps you out.

Bad diode.

It seems that the number provided "CR14710" is the number near the part on the board. Are you sure this is the part number or rather, is it the part's schematic reference? I interpret "CR14710" as Control Rectifier 14710 that can be found on a schematic. I say this because you also said "a badly burned diode" and usually the part number becomes illegible from this.
