Chainsaw bogs down/out when throttle depressed

I have a Husqvarna Rancher 55. It is less than 3 years old. When it gets warmed up it bogs down when you depress the throttle and will not increase in RPM. No RPM, no cut wood. I had a smaller chain saw a couple of years ago that had the same problem and I never could find out what was wrong with it. Could this be a gas mix problem?

Not if you''re certain about the mix you've created. Also, I presume the plug is not fouling and you've got the choke issue handled. One thought is that the fuel is old and sort of turning to varnish (hi/lo temps) Also, check the internal fuel filter - it's a little membrane that's somewhat hard to handle. Also, if the problem is a real gremlin it may just mean a tune-up at your local shop for a nominal fee

First thing you need to check is the cylinder.Take the spark plug ouy.use a flashlight and look down the hole towards the muffler side.If its scratched up afraid the motor is shot and will need to be rebuilt.If its not scratched up let me know on here.Then I will give you more things to check.

I have a rancher 55 and I had to reconnect the gas line to the carburator and now I can't reconnect the throttle I need a view of the throttle assembley. Where can I find one thank you

55 IPLs start at page 4 but I doubt it has the level of detail you need.
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

I must warn you. Many that frequent here develop an obsession with chainsaws. When I joined I had 1 and had only owned 2. I now own 7 and am always on the look out for a new one.
Good luck with your project. HTH

Looking for proper h/l jet settings on my husqvarna 266 se chainsaw..or a manual i can download ...i found one...but it was in swedish

rule of thumb is 1 torn out from closed will get you started. then run at high speed and richen the H screw till you hear it just starting to bogg down every few seconds. Then let off the throttle and adjust the L screw till it runs smooth the richen it a quarter turn. Thats the old fashioned way I have been using for 40 years

I need to know the right angle to sharpen my chainsaw

If your saw still has the original bar and chain, it was supplied with a .325" pitch chain and you'll need a 3/8" round file with a sharpening guide to properly sharpen it.

Here's a link to the Husqvarna site to the Rancher 455 models so you can select the correct manual to download, that matches your particular saw, based on the year of manufacture, etc.

There is some excellent information about maintaining your saw, along with a really good guide with step-by-step instructions for proper sharpening.

http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/?query=455&types=O

If you're having trouble figuring out the right manual for your saw, use the online Customer Support page and they'll reply.

Hope you find this Very Helpful - Best regards!

What size file to sharpen chain for 55 rancher

It depends on the chain you have installed on the chainsaw. You can look at the numbers stamped on the drive link side of the cutting chain and it should have a 2 digit number that correlates to the size.

The factory chain supplied with the #455 rancher was a .325" pitch 3/8" chain.

Here's a link to the specs for your saw with some useful info

Hope you found this very helpful and best regards!
