Sounds like your thermocouple/Flame sensor failure.
Many times it can be cleaned with fine grit sandpaper - but its best just to replace it once you have the machine torn down.

The thermocouple converts the flame(heat) into very small voltage that lets the gas regulator know to stay open.

It is not sensing the proper voltage after heating up - so is shutting down so your room doesnt fill with gas and explode :D

Please accept this answer to remove it from the work queue - and re-post additional questions.

Thanks :)

one other thing - Based upon the problem description which is a common symptom, when one of the solenoid (coil) fails or becomes defective.

Replace both solenoids, which are located on top of the gas control valve. An easy and inexpensive do it yourself repair. No testing is required to accomplish this type repair.

The solenoid coils are mounted directly on top of the gas valve. Each has a wire harness assembly with a plastic quick disconnect attached. The coils (solenoids) must be removed and replaced.

Flame sensor/thermocouple/( of the side of the flame tube ) is common but not nearly as common as the coils themselves.

You can actually just remove the gas valve (solenoids and all) and have it refurbished at a local appliance repair store. They will replace the coils and check for leaks at the seals.

    Thanks :D

The burner may be clogged with dust. This is common with gas dryers. The regulator may also be the problem. If it is not flowing properly then it will starve the burner for gas. Try cleaning the burner with a vacuum first. If this doesn't work then call out your local gas company to check the pressure at the regulator. These burners require a large flow to function correctly. Hope this helps. Please re-post with updates or questions. If you feel that this solution has helped then please accept and rate. Y wonnt the flame shut off

Model #? Problem is not clear. May be blocked airflow from filter trap all the way thru the 4" duct outside the back of the dryer OR may be faulty gas valve that doesn't completely close when "OFF."

Speedqueen flame stays on for only 30 seconds then goes out, puffs back towards gas valve

when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer and vent line,if the air can't move to the outside vent the gas will shut down, remove the vent line from the back of dryer to see if it runs longer, also clean out the duct where the lint filter slides into,it sounds like you have lint blockage either in the dryer or in the vent line.

Speed Queen dryer burner lights but does not dry clothes

This is a symptom of a severely clogged up vent or dryer passages.
Remove the vent duct hose from the back of the dryer and see if the problem persists. If it workes normally clean out the ducting and the through the wall flapper vent.
If the problem persists then remove the lint filter and inspect the air passages inside the dryer. Also check the exit hole where the vent duct connects for lint buildup. Use a crevice tool / vacuum to clear all dryer passages. If necessary use a folded coat metal hanger to assist in removing lint build up.

Wash the lint filter with whie wine vinegar and then soap and water to remove the dryer sheet particulate matter that builds up on the lint filter.

If the burner lights but goes out after 30 seconds then the flame sensor on the top of the burner assy ducting is bad.

Thanks for using FixYa.
