Question about Lenovo 3000 C200 Notebook

1 Answer

I'm trying to upgrade my Lenovo 3000 C200 to 2Gb RAM. Having problems. I have filled two slots with 2 x 1Gb chips (DDR2 5300 modules as specified) and it refuses to start up beyond the Lenovo startup screen. If I replace one of the chips with one of the original 512 Mb chips it starts up successfully and BIOS and Vista reads 1.5Gb of RAM. Any ideas?

Try the 512 with the other 1gb to see what happens. In this way by proccess of elimination you can determine if one of the 1gb sticks is bad

I upgraded Memory to 4GB with Two 2GB SD Ram Modules but System shows Only One 2GB module and does not show/recognize second module. BIOS Setting Shows Second Slot/RAM Module Not Activated.

is the module in properly?,is anything broken?? switch them around and see if the module is good or not, also, just because the motherboard supports 2 modules,if intel only recognizes 2gb then that is all, whether you have 2 1gb modules or 2 2gb modules, upgrade your intel chip and upgrade your bios

What Type and Make of RAM can system use? okca28@hotmail.com

Hi - It takes PC2-4200 240 pin ddr2 ram up to four gigabytes (it has two ram slots total - so it can use a 2 Gb stick per slot.)

Brand - I personally would buy any brand that was cheapest (make sure the seller has a return policy just in case).

Enjoy your upgrade!

Lenovo 3000 y410 graphic card upgrade?

Lenovo Y410 System RAM can handle up to 2GB of memory. Since the machine has 2 slots for RAM and you already have 1GB preinstalled with the computer all you need to purchase is another stick of 1GB RAM.

There is no chance of upgrading Graphics card since it doesnt have a video card slot and the preinstalled VCARD is onboard.

Should you have any other questions just please leave a comment.

Cheers~

Memory upgrade

hi there, if is still hardware warranty, don't touch it. use your warranty. better to repalce unit with warranty. Beeping sound means memory problem. The problem is in the slot of the memory chips of the board. If the warranty laft, try to clean the slot of the memory chips to the board and the contact of memory chips. It will work seem you were using it before you upgrade the memory. TY
