Question about Panasonic PV-7400 VHS VCR

1 Answer

Tape would not come out.

I removed the top of cover and plugged it on. It turns on for a few min then turned off by itself. I tried to do quickly like turn on then press button "eject" but it turned off by itself. I turned on again and press "rewind" and the display does not say "REW" and still it turned off by itself. How can I eject that stubborn tape (VHS Play Pak). JVC cassette inside tape.

Not sure on the removal, but if you replace the mode switch the machine might come back to life.

Tape stuck in vcr. when you press the eject button vcr starts to work but shtuts off the power Model number DVR-3034N. I have only taken the front and back covers off. Turned slanted roller untill the...

It sounds like the tape is jammed in the vcr, remove the top cover of the machine this will expose the tape. If the tape is spewed in the mechanical section and around the video head, get a pair of scissors and start cutting the tape and carefully remove all tape particles, when all tape debris has been removed, plug in vcr turn on and eject. If the tape looks good, you may have a loading basket problem, bad idler ***. or broken drive belt. "Lets hope for the best"

The tv turns on by itself. If I shut it off, I can't turn it on with the button or the remote.

There can be several causes for this, few of which you can do anything about. However, a few things to try.

1) Replace the batteries on your remote control.
2) Try resetting the logic functions on your tv by unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in.
3) Try covering up the infra-red receptor on the front of your TV to see if you're getting unwanted signals from the receptor. taping a piece of foil over that area is perfect. If it doesn't stop after doing these two things you'll probably need to take it to a shop.
4) If this does stop it, then look for unexpected signal sources. Have you added a remote control extender? Added a new device to your audio-video system? Changed to a new remote?

Good luck with your problem...I hope you can work it out.

I've got a 3580 Ultrium tape drive with a tape that won't eject and the unit displays error code 6. Is there a trick to get the tape out?

I had this same problem a few mins ago. I held the tape up with my finger as I hit eject. The tape came right out. Then I put in a cleaning tape and had no issues at all. You don't need to disassemble the unit at all.

Keeps tuening itself off

try running a malware or spyware remover. but i doubt it that malware would do this. Try to get ComboFIX from a reliable source. like majorgeek, etc etc.

Just to see if you are covering any holes while using the laptop, placing the laptop on a bed is not a good idea on top of a hard cover book or a laptop cooling station is better you want to make sure, the vent are free of obstructions and breathing.
