What needs to be adjusted? First of all make sure you have it threaded correctly. There are a lot more holes and threading points than an household sewing machine. If it is the tension that needs adjustment you will see the tension dial just above the needle slightly to the left. It's the grey knob. Turn it clockwise to tighten the tension. Turn it counter clockwise to loosen it. Thread with two different colors of thread, one color in the bobbin, another color for the spool. Sew a line of stitching...if you see the top spool thread pulling to the underside then you will need to tighten the tension. If the bobbin thread is pulling to the top side then you will need to loosen the tension. If you want to adjust the stitch length then turn the dial that has numbers on it. #2 is pretty small stitches, I use #3 for most sewing and #4 and 5 for topstitching or basting. Good Luck! Hopes this helps.

I am a swimwear designer and just got a juki ddl 8300n did I pick a good machine? How can I adjust the machine for a more stretchy stitch?! What number should my stitch dial be on to get a stretch?

Perhaps a manual would be helpful:

File JUKI DDL 8300N Instruction Manual pdf

You should probably contact the manufacturer with questions. Hopefully, you did some thorough research before purchasing this machine. From the info I found, it appears to be a straight stitch only machine. I don't know anything about this machine, but I would be hesitant to purchase a straight stitch machine for sewing swimwear. Usually, swimwear needs a stretch stitch or zig-zag capability. Just my thoughts...

Reset timing on real industry sewing machine

most likely the needle thread adjustment is not tight enough and the thread is bunching up underneath
If it is stitching then the needle / hook timing is correct and it is the tensions that are out

Juki industrial sewing machine. Machine will start sewing but after three stitches it stops.

You may need to adjust your tension dial with your fabric you are using and kind of thread, also adjust to thickness of fabric. Always use good sharp needles with your sewing and keep machine clean and oiled.

I got a mitsubishi industrial flat machine it is skipping stitches

Skipped stitches
1. The needle is not inserted correctly
Remove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)
2. The needle is damaged
replace with new needle
3. The wrong size needle is being used
Choose a needle to suit the thread & fabric
4. The foot not attached correctly
Check & attach correctly
5. If the above suggestions don't help then the machine needs to be checked For a timing problem.

My wife broke several needles on her Juki DDL 555 machine and I need to know how to adjust the timing as she put a new needle in and the point was damaged

First thing to check is if you've got the right needle system: http://partsbooks.sewingmachine.com/Instructions/Juki/Industrial/DDL-5550%20&%205530%20Instruction%20Manual.pdf and that the needle is correctly oriented... the scarf has to be precisely set.
The next things I'd check are the stitch cycle -- hand crank the machine through the normal stitch cycle and see what's hitting. Then fix that. I've got my suspicions this may be a needle bar height adjustment. Don't thread up for this test... misthreading can also cause the needle to hit something and break, so start with the fewest possible variables first.

I have re-threaded, changed needles, adjusted the differential and cutting width but cannot sew a single seam without the stitches skipping, sometimes several in a row and sometimes only one.

SKIPPED STITCHES ON A SERGER

1. Is the needle bent or worn--replace

2. Is the needle inserted correctly into the needle holder--check needle

3. Is the Serger threaded correctly--rethread

4. Is the presser foot pressure right for the fabric--adjust
5. are the needles the correct ones for the serger
6. Possible timing problem--need to be checked at a sewing machine shop
