Question about RCA TH1611 MP3 Player
Hello. I absent-mindedly did not back up the files and folders in my root directory when I upgraded my firmware on my TH1611-A. I have the music folder, but nothing else.
I upgraded because the player shut off and would not come back on (wouldn't even show the "pearl" startup screen.) It's got a new battery and everything. The computer recognizes it, and I can read from it and record to it while it is plugged into the USB port. The pearl icon with the red circle logo doesn't appear with the drive on My Computer anymore.
Now I don't know if it's not coming on because I don't have the root directory files, or if the player just went kaput. Can someone who has these folders and files please email them to me? I asked RCA about where I could download them, and they told me where to get EasyRip. I need more than that!
The upgrade should have put any pretinent files on the device that were needed. The easyRip application will write the necessary files when the transfer of media is done.
In answer to your question specifically...No, the player is not having issues because you don't have the root directory files. I would try re-installing the firmware again.
