I was just given this motherboard, I have a generic case, I have never had it boot, the motherboard model is Intel Server SE70501BR2, I connected the power supply, keyboard and video cable, when I power it on all the fans start, the video stays blank, runs for about 30 seconds, powers down for a few more, then starts back up again and powers off in cycles.

I realize that many people try to identify their entire computer by identifying their Mother Board. This can be used as a temporary measure but when we start to work and trouble shoot we will need the following information: (1) Name of computer manufacturer and the Trade name of the computer, in your case your server. (2) The model name and number. (3) The Mother Board identification number. I am sure if you have a server you should know where to find it, even though we would be more than happy to assist you. (4) You have given us a glimpse of the way that your server developed a failure. This is good. However we need have much more detail to help us speed up your repai, which will be done by you with our assistance. Please give us a description with all detail of what happened before failure, during failure and after failure. There may be a small detail which you did not think of importance and that just might be the key to fix your problem. For me, to be able to guess what is the problem, based on what you said, I must be a fool. Thank you very much. CONSTANTIN (arzconst)

Thank you for the information. Now we know something! Your well appreciated gift will not work because it is designed for a server. Funny that today I have had you and another gentleman that had the same problem. What I don't understand is why so many clients go sticking their hands in the mother board. I told the other gentleman not to dispose of his original MB because we probably will have to re-install it in the original position. My question now is how is your budget. Don't look down upon "generic" equipment. They were designed to produce OEM equipment and as such they are "tailorcut" for that application. If you need another MB let me know and I will help you to find the best for your budget. Please note that I do this, with permission of our company, as long as we do not accept any money, willing or unwilling. Thank you very much. CONSTANTIN (arzconst)

Most of the time you'll need to change a setting in the BIOS to force the computer to recognize the PCI slot first. Try going through your BIOS settings until you find it. It should be something like "Display First" or Primary, and it should be set to onboard graphics. Try changing that to PCI and see if that fixes your problem.

The power-supply is producing several different voltages.
However, one of the voltages that it is producing is *NOT* within the "normal" range of voltages, and so you get the error-message.

Replace the power-supply.
