If you do two of these things, such as browsing and watching video without downloading, what is the result? Does the PC still hang up? Watching Video could mean several things, 1. Is the video that you are watching downloaded to your PC or are you on a website watching streaming video? Also, what are you downloading? If you are on a Torrent site downloading, the Torrent seeding process will eat up your bandwidth and RAM causing the PC to freeze or hang up.

There used to be a day that 1Gig would be plenty to run all of the applications you mention, however, in today's computer and internet world, the size and applications of Windows itself require 512RAM just as a minimal for install. I have never seen your PC before, but if you have a lot of programs in the Windows STARTUP script (to check, click on START button, choose RUN, type MSCONFIG and then enter. This should bring a box up that has a tab for STARTUP. This is where you can uncheck what you don't want to startup when Windows boots) and then you try to run graphic intensive programs on top of downloading Torrnets (which is potentially a HUGE resource hog) you WILL run into these types of PC hang ups.

I would recommend that you modify your PCs startup routine using the instructions that I provided for you above and then run a system defrag (go into My Computer, right click on the C: drive and then choose properties from the drop down box. After this new windows comes up, choose TOOLS and then DEFRAGMENTATION - NOTE#: Kick off defrag when you will not be using the PC for awhile, it will slow down the system and interfere with the defrag if you run it while Windows is actively downloading etc...)

Anyway, you should have control over Torrnet downloads (Google Torrents for more information) and if you can afford it, buy another Gig of RAM for your PC. It shouldn't cost more than $60-75 dollars. A rule of thumb for computers is that " can NEVER have too much RAM...".

    Hope this helps.

There isn't anything you can do. The amount of ram that a computer can hold or process is dictated by the motherboard that the manufacturer installed
