Question about Nyko Wireless Sensor Bar for Nintendo Wii

1 Answer

I have a NYKO wireless sensor bar. When I turn it very rarely picks up the remote. I have not found a single review or troubleshooting guide online that hasn't been planted by them. I am wondering if my wireless internet may be interfering or anything. The help given on the official website is completely useless and Gamestation wont take it back.

I had the same problem but what you need to do if you have a digital camera or even a camera phone point the camera lens at the sensor bar standing 1.5-2 feet from the bar with the console on if you see 3 white dots on both IR reciver ports then the bar works, if not go the store where you got it and buy another put the defective bar in the same package and return the defective one and keep the new one. You may need to move your wireless router to another room if possible. if this dont work e-mail me @ jtenford@gmail.com

Found this on page 55 of user manual. Hope it helps.

Problem:
Every time I turn on the TV, the Guide is on the screen
Solution:
The GUIDE Plus+ system automatically appears on the screen when you use the TV button on the remote to turn on the TV. You
can turn off this feature by pressing GUIDE on your remote control and then select the Menu bar. Press the right arrow button to
select Setup. Choose Review options and select OFF.

The cord came out of the Sensor Bar. Where can I buy a new Sensor Bar for my Wii?

You can buy another sensor bar at any Gamestop / EB Games / Video game store etc.

Also you can purchase one directly from Nintendo at http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=138704¤cy=USD&catalogId=10001&tranId=0&lastAction=setCurr&storeId=10001&languageId=-1&categoryId=&ddkey=http:SetCurrencyPreference
Or you can call nintendo at 1-800-255-3700

The cost should be less than $10.00

Just want to know how to install the bar with my wii

  1. Unplug the nintendo sensor bar from the wii
  2. Make sure the Nyko has 4 good AA batteries.
  3. Place the nyko bar where you had the nintendo sensor bar and turn on.
  4. Dont forget to turn off the wireless bar when you are done playing a game.

I have a nyko wireless wii sensor bar. the first one I had would not turn on, and so I got a new one but the same problem is happening. the blue light will not turn on.

First thing to check is your battery... This sensor bar is nice that it doesn't require a wire for power, but the battery tends to drain pretty quickly. After about 8-hours or so of playtime you'll probably have to change batteries.

You also need to calibrate the sensitivity if your Wiimote afterwards to make sure it works properly.

Lastly, this bar is also known to have issues with some third party controllers. If you're not using the official Wiimote you might also have issue with this bar.

I have a Nyko Wireless Sensor Bar for the Nintendo Wii. I am able to turn it on, but it doesn't seem to recognize any of my remotes on the screen. What is wrong with this device?

Check the batteries in the Sensor bar, make sure it isn't being blocked by anything, back away from it and keep trying to use it at a distance... And for the sake of correctness: the Bar does not recognize anything, it merely emits infrared signals that the Wii Remote picks up and sends to the Wii via Bluetooth to interpret and calculate where to position the cursor on your TV screen. The strange thing is that the Wii Remote can sometimes be overpowered by bright lights Including the sun, so try to stay away from windows and lamps etc, etc..

You just got learned!

Remotes not picking up anything

I would suggest replacing the senor bar, it is not that uncommon that one the the Infrared LED's in the sensor bar to have burned out or go bad.

I personally use the wireless sensor bar after my original senor bar went bad

Problem with wiimote

the problem could be uv light, if its daytime make sure all the blinds are closed no extra lights are on near the sensor bar. if there is a glare on the screen at all it could be reflecting light to the wiimote as well. I've had that problem before myself, if that is not the case try moving closer to the sensor bar, make sure the sensor bar is connected correctly and then go to the system settings menu and calibrate the wii sensor bar and adjust the sensitivity, make sure you are not sitting at a wide angle from the snesor bar either, you can tip the sensor bar left and right in order to allow yourself a wider angle. also avoid using the nyko wireless sensor bar, it has a shorter range than the wired one that somes with the wii, mine came with a wireless on(used) and i just got a wired one and now it works much better. well I hope you find this info at least a little useful.
