I have a Samsung LN37A450C1DXA Serial Number: AL0M3CSQ407763V. The picture on this tv is washed out. I am trying to fix this. Is this a T-Con board issue or Power board issue?

The picture on this tv is a very bright washed out white with hints of reds and blues. You can still see images but there is next to no contrast. It appears one of the capacitors on the power board might be bad. Any ideas?

SOURCE: Samsung LN-R408D - No Picture

My Mom's LNR408D also had sound but no picture. I was able to fix it by soldering in a jumper wire across a blown (1.5A ???) SMD picofuse on the "T-Con" board.
Consider attempting this ONLY if you: 0) Know enough to avoid the potentially fatal High Voltage parts of the power supply board!!!
1) Are a fearless hackazoid 2) know what you're doing with a soldering iron and teensie SMD parts 3) are gonna throw the busted thing out anyway so you have nothing to lose and won't be sad if you screw something up.
4) Know enough to avoid the potentially FATAL High Voltage parts of the power supply board!!!!!

This board is at the top center under a close fitting RF shield. The suspect part was labeled "CP" on the board and marked with "P" on the part. It is visible above the right-center of the connector from the main board. An ohmmeter showed it as open, so I bypassed it with a jumper wire from connector VIN to the hot side of C13. One image shows the suspect part and the jumper in place.

The other shows the TCON board placement top-center (under its RF shield). With care, it seems possible to test the fuse and put the jumper in place without removing the shield. (Obviously don't touch anything else with the VOM leads!)

Thanks to ZORBUS and Steve's TV and Electronics for the idea.

SOURCE: Which Replacement Power Board for LNT4665F Samsung LCD TV?

Howdy,
It would be a lot cheaper if you just replace the two caps that have gone bad. Just get a cheap solder pencil from the store and about an inch of solder and you are in business.
The Power Supply Board is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.

Thaks for using FIXYA, BIG IRISH.

SOURCE: Westinghouse lvm-47w1 picture goes dim

Hello, I can tell you from experience that this is an inverter issue. Both the master and the slave have several transformers and sometimes you can't tell if they are damaged or not. I would recommend testing the leads from the inverters to make sure which one of the two is the one causing the dim picture.

It needs to be repaired by having the convergence ICs replaced or resoldered (if intermittent).

Parts are STK 392-570. Be sure to use thermal paste on the ICs.

How to verify symptoms for a faulty t-con board and what number on the T-con board to look at while ordering a replacement?

Sorry about bad news but you have a 1% chance of this being a timing board issue, it's going to be a bad panel, it's either a bad COF IC or a buffer capacitor on the panel board that doesn't give a picture, if it's a COF it won't be fixable, but you could test the 17-volt rail coming out of the tcon board on the side that doesn't work, if no voltage look at the MMF capacitors to see if they're shorted, there will be one for each COF, if one shows shorted they all will appear bad until removed, thern chances are only one is bad, the problem is going to be replacing them as they're very small and advanced solder skills and the proper equipment are needed.

Hi, my tv that has back lights and sound but no picture. I recently bought a t-con board installed it yet it still does not work. what may be the possible solution to fix it. Thanks!

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Samsung LCD tv no picture, but OSD/MENU works & when I change channels with cable box, the channel logos display momentarily. Backlights are on. Tried a factory rest. Tried service menu EEPROM reset.

Check the T-con board and the power supply to see if one or more voltages are missing. You may have to download the contents of the eeprom and flash it

If you see a picture with the flashlight you can rule out the T-Con board. It's working. So the led driver board is the problem. TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy Go here for replacement parts.

How do I fix a washed out picture problem on my 46 inch samsung series 7100 led tv?

The common cause of this issue is down to a board that connects the screen to the main circuit video board of the tv. It is usually located top middle of the tv and has 2 white ribbon type wires coming from the top and is normally covered in a metal shield.
There will be a part number on the circuit board, this will be the one to find online which matches your screen. If you got an identical tv with another fault, it may not have the same part as each combination is different depending on the manufacturing line or part revisions.

The part you are looking for is called the T-Con board . Hope this helps.

Samsung flat screen tv no picture sound only, I have checked all connections and remote still same problem.

The T con board is faulty. It is the board with flat ribbon cables going to the bottom of the screen. It is not hard to replace this board. You can get one from here:

I have a Samsung TV model UN50H6350AFXZA which has sound but no picture. Backlights work. Replaced t-con board with new one, but not fixed. What next?

Main board. T con board is only involved with video issues. Main board goes both ways and since you already replaced the T con board that is your only alternative. U got backlite so inverter board is good.

Samsung ln-s4092d no red tint

There are a few things that can cause this. Your t-con board, the signal board or the screen itself. The most likelly and cheapest would be the t-con board. This is the board that transfers your picture from the signal board to your screen. You would have to open up your tv and get the part number from the board itself.
