Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
When I print a sheet all words will appear as they should. However multiple words are being copied lightly through-out the whole page, over top of each line. It's like the roller is retaining wet ink?
Thanks in Advance!
I have an HP Laser Jet 4L. It prints fine with the exception of large black splotched on the left hand side of every page. The splotches are toner of course. They are darkest at the begining of the page and become lighter toward the end of the page. I took the unit apart and cleaned it completely but the problem persists.
Could it be as simple as a cartridge problem?
Sounds like a bad heat roll in the fuser.
If it is more like a ghost image repeating perfectly at a certain distance. Say like evry 3 inches, suspect the fuser, which is the heat roller.

Yes Cartridge problem is what causes double imaging 95 % of the time, there is a rubber blade in the drum unit that wears and doesn't clean off old image from drum. Have known this fault to be fuser at times, the way to tell is to get a print to stop half way threw machine by openning door during print, remove cartridge and look at print, you want it to be stop before the fuser(hot bit) but after the drum, image still rubs off if pre fuser and then you can see if defect is present before paper travels threw the fuser, but in your case I think you will find it is not the fuser it is toner cartridge.

Tips for a great answer:
Sep 16, 2017 | The Computers & Internet
Go to printer properties and see whether
'Paper source' has being set to 'Manual feed'.
Then change it to 'Auto Feeder' or 'Auto'.
(Different words might have been used in
different printer models instead these words)
This is a suggestion. This might work or might
not. Have several papers ready in the Auto tray (usually at the bottom) before
