Manley or Banzai Motorized Thunder Boat pool toy electric motor doesn't work, I have 3 of these. The kids love 'em. Kinda like bumper boats but with water canons. They run off of 8 D cell batteries for each boat. I can get one of the water canons to work but the others are dead.
Suspect rust has gotten into the motors, but just guessing. The boats costs about $40 each so I hate to toss 'em. Any suggestions?

All toys such as cars and trucks should be used under supervision. Personally i think that classic push pedal cars are much less dangerous than motorized toys as they don't go as fast and you can't get yourself caught up in any motorized parts. But particular care should be take on hills and around roads etc
it sounds as if you may have something jammed in the impeller blades, if you have small kids, look for small toys (leggos, plastic wrenches, etc) stuck inside the input tube or the blades themselves.
PLEASE turn off power first and drain (if needed). the pump housing should come apart with a screw driver, but you MAY need tamper resistant bits and a bit driver. if no kids, then look for small debris like twigs or such ( I have even found bottle caps in some units that I've taken apart!!).
didnt specify model --generic answer---check and lube motor sounds like bearings dry --but [should have notified] notify the company of the motor problem may have been a fix or possible replacement if warrantied ---
