I've got a coleman 6250 that runs great! Motor wise that is. There's apparently no electricity coming out, and the brushes are new. I'm at a loss...any suggestions?

Shut it off, restart. May have condensation. This happened to me with a generac. OH! OH! OH! Check your fuses! Generator will start, but produce nothing MAY just be a fuse.

Generac 5500XL, model#09778-7 no output. Changed the power regulator board. No luck. Flashed the 120 plug with 12-30vdc from DC board. Nothing. Excited the brushes directly with DC board. Only got 2.36VDC...

Double check your brush istallation. positive side toward rotor bearing, if you put 12 vdc directly into brush pack and check with a meter at the 120 vac outlet and have low or no voltage, you may have no resistance in your rotor slip rings, excitor & main windings also need a resistance check. 12.6-16.7 ohms (rotor) 2.26-2.80 ohms (excitation) .26-.32/.28-.35 main or power windings. Note: unit running when appling 12 volts to brush pack. 2-5 second only, ( This test tells you the rotor & stotor are ok )

Just replaced the brushes on a WE14 150 Quick 6 Grinder and sparks now come from the brushes

From my own experience.

Are the strips of the commutator smooth and flat?
(Not to insult you. The part of the armature that the brushes ride on)

If they aren't, the brushes will bounce up and down.
I put one end of the armature in a drill, and have a helper run the drill. The other end of the armature rests in the front bearing of the grinder head, which is fastened down. (To a bench) Then I use a medium tooth, (B astard) file to dress the commutator bars flat.

I also put medium grade sandpaper in-between the brushes, and the commutator surface to dress an arc on the brushes. (Turn the armature by hand while keeping the sandpaper in place)
Brushes come with a flat surface. Putting a radius on them to fit the arc of the commutator, gives them a good contact surface to start from.

Be sure the springs are putting pressure on the brushes. Sometimes the brush mounts need to be cleaned, or the brush will not slide through the mount like it should. The brush will again, 'Dance' on the commutator. (Bounce up and down)

My Coleman Powermate 6250 generator has no power output. After the carburator was cleaned, I flashed it. A voltage meter shows there is power being generated, but none so to light a light bulb. What to do...

Take the cover off and flash the rotor again with a 12 volt battery. Positive lead goes to the top or right side brush. Negative to the other brush. Just touch it on, then remove it, and check for power at plugs.
If that doesn't do it, change the AVR (voltage regulator)

Powermate 6250 model pm0545007.01 engine runs no a.c. output

You will need to install new diodes, they are located in the plastic housing behind the receptacles...It looks like little spark plugs..They work to put dc voltage to the rotor, without the exciter voltage applied, you will not get ac power out..The part number is 3483.01....You can buy these online for about $6 each, they have 2 inside the generator, and you should change both.
