My back light/screen light is blank, totally dark, but in certain light I can see the page with the apps. the sounds are okay, phone rings etc. Just the light for the screen does not come on, brightness is at full. Apple store said it will not honor any warranty, has nothing to do with them if light goes out, tried all updates, still does not work,LED or LCD light bulb is out. anyone knows about this?
Re: screen light is blank, but all items are working.
You will probably need to replace the LCD to fix this issue, I broke my iPod LCD and replaced it myself of eBay. The bulb you speak of is all built into the LCD and has a tape/wire that connects to the iPhone to my knowledge and if I'm wrong please feel free to correct but as far as I know its all in the LCD.

When the display is to dark or to light, the manual says:
Adjust the brightness of the backlight (page 18).
On page 18 it says:
This sets the brightness of the LCD screen. When viewing images in bright outside light if [Brightness] is set to [Normal], reset to [Bright]. However, the battery power may decrease faster under such condition.
You also can press the button with the > logo, to change between view pictures and record.
What do you mean by this blank screen. A screen with back light only? A screen without any back light [dark screen]? Provide more details please. If you wish to get details about these type of faults to Sony LCD TVs, check this link.
does the light stay or blinking and how about the screen display totally black or a white screen. you can see in a dark room if their is a white screen. if totally black screen then with sound the cause is could be bad inverter board or screen back light. if a white screen it was the t-con board not working good.
It sounds like your laptop's Back Light is out. The screen has two layers, the LCD display, which provides the image, and the back light, which gives it brightness and clarity. Unfortunately, it is no easy fix and typically costs more than a new laptop to replace. I'd recommend calling HP themselves if you want to get it repaired.
The exposure lamp is not coming on, try unplugging the machine for a few minutes. power it back up, Try making a copy, it uses the same parts as out going fax.
If that doesn't work, feed a page into the fax, press copy, if you look where the original comes out you should see a bright light, this illuminates the original so the scanner can see the page. If that lamp is not coming on the lamp or the control board for the lamp has likely failed.
If you look really hard can you see the items on the screen but they are really dark? If so the back light for the lcd may have burned out.
Take a look at the following site for instructions on disassembly.
If you feel comfortable with it, you can easily replace your own. A new lcd runs about 50 dollars shipped. If you buy it from ebay, they
will usually come with instructions and the screwdriver you need. A T6
torx driver is the type needed.
Hmm.. Your cellphone Leds could be broken.. :/
Try pressing the following keystrokes (and joystick for left/rigth):
Right, *, Left, Left, *, Left, *.
A new menu should be displayed on your screen.
Not sure of the english descriptions of these menus, I'll just tell you to enter the third menu item. (or press 3)
This is the test-menu for your cellphone. I certainly had much fun messing thru this menu, but for now try enter '1' for running a maindisplay-test. Your screen should cycle thru a colorful test, mainly displaying red, green and blue colors :)
second try the 2nd menu item, which test the lights/LEDs.
If this doesnt make your cellphone flash, on and off, with a 'Ok'-message, the LEDs may be out :/
