Question about Computers & Internet

Gateway 7322 laptop does not respond to power button -- it will not turn on. Does the laptop have a mother board reset button? Is that button buried somewhere behind panels and dozens of tiny screws?

It works now, thanks! I started by connecting the DigiPower supply to another brick, which seems to be a supplemental battery supply/power buffer, but that didn't work. Connecting it directly to the brick farther down the line produced a startup.

Are you trying this on battery or on ac power supply?? Have you tried a different ac power supply to see if maybe you are just having a power issue??

Does the laptop recognize that the power cord is plugged in and the battery is charging?

Try replacing the battery or try plugging it into AC power

Gateway 7322 Notebook. Can't get the battery only

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

Gateway 450ROG, will not start. Red DVD/CD ROM

I have the very same problem, the Drive light turns red, the screen is "black" and the battery charging light indicator on the front is off. No differance if I'm traying to power up on battery or AC-adapter.

Before this problem appeared I had problems where the laptop was powering off, with no warning, and I had to restart it. This happened several times and was going on for about a week before it died totally. Can it be the CMOS battery on the mother board? Anyone having clue what the problem could be?

Gateway inverter board replacment

Hi,
The inverter board is the circuit board inside the screen, with all the capacitators etc that controls the backlight. It looks like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/GateWay-7322-7330-7340-7410-Inverter-83-120082-3000_W0QQitemZ290289050786QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090114?IMSfp=TL090114125004r29293

You can just google 'changing inverter board gateway' and see if you can find the closest guide to your model..
I found this one 4th on the list..

Fix the on button on a Gateway laptop (MX7118)

lay down the screen flat
then get the two screws under the power bar
lift up power button bar carfully, you will see ribbon cable connected to the mother board with little brown clips, one on the power button also, this ribbon cable is very thin, and you probably will see the cracks with maginfy, order ribbon cable on ebay

GATEWAY 7322

If you replace the HDD, there is no reason why system hung up. try cleaning your memory cause on that case i can pinpoint that memory something wrong. try cleaning memory fixed it again, if your don't mind maybe you need to replace the memory.

if the same happen, try examine CD Disc or your cd rom drive cannot read the files on the disc.

(Option solution)Examine your motherboard after clear prove that the above solution is not working. i can assure u that main board is good. if ever it was damage that causes overheating.
