Question about Flotec Corrosion Resistant Shallow Well Jet Pump 1/2HP, 8GPM

Small water line has come separate from the pump at some time. Has this casued the pump to burn up?

If you mean to say that your pumps suction line was either severed, pinched or in other words running with no fluid passing through it to help dissipate the heat then yes. That is exactly what burned your pump up.

pipes look like they have been there a long time

separate the pump for the motor
and inspect both careful

motor
unplugged
open the wiring cover look for burnt wiring or moisture
bench test motor on its own see if it trips breaker
bearings seizing or motor winding burning out

Can water in my fuel pump make it go bad


If your tank mounted fuel pump was filled mostly with water and then run, it could burn out the motor in it, as water conducts electricity to some extent and fuel does not.

If you had say, a 10% layer of water in the fuel (it separates out), and the pump sucked that, it is possible, but somewhat unlikely. Maybe the pump just failed.

Sometimes the timer on this model will stall out and cause the solenoid to burn up, this unit doesn't have a separate drain pump so the solenoid would be why it isn't draining. It's possible that the new solenoid will take care of it with no other problems but if it burns up again then you may have a bad timer

No we are on a well system and there is no way it could have been frozen. i was trying to turn up the hot water tank. then put the timer on full time pumping and now no water.


OK. Water well.

1) Let's do a punch list for deep well:
Check 20 amp 240volt circuit breaker to well. Click breaker all the way one direction and then back other direction.
Look at pressure gauge on well to see if pressure is zero.
Open pressure switch cover (small grey box about size of baseball) and see if points are stuck.
Points can burn together sometimes.
Turn off power to well, separate points and use fingernail file to clean points.

Also check if pressure switch is getting 240V. Move wires to another same-size circuit breaker to see if breaker is functioning correctly.

If pressure at tank is zero, then solinoid could be bad in control box, or motor could be burned out.
-Buy new control box at hardware store for $60 and replace.
-Call water well company to replace pump.

2) I am not 100% familiar with shallow well operation to give you detailed information.

Have a GE hot point HSS25GFTABB, removed doors to put inside house after a move and the ice maker works, but when you fill with water, it runs down the line dripping at the bottom of left door


Inspect the line crefully at the bottom of the door where it connects to the cabinet supply. The line may have been damaged when and if the doors were removed.
HOPEFULLY it is a small nick in the tubing casuing the water leak, and not the line inside the freezer door as the water line is foamed into the door and the entire door would have to be replaced to resolve an internal leak.
The coupler at the door connection is a push-lock syle coupler and to seperate the line you need to press the white collar into the blue barrel connector to relese the tension.

When i change the timingbelt,How do i Time it?


Set your timing mark on outer cover to the flywheel timing mark on pulley(T mark), then take the covers off and look you will clearly see marks that line up on the cam pulley to block,crank gear to block, and water pump shaft to crank (separate belt replace both, and replace water pump in high mile cars. ) These marks will all line up when you rotate the motor to top dead center on the compression stroke..

My washer won't drain


HI, check the following to address this issue.

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

I just bought a replacement pump today. Model


The oil will be in the stainless steel or silver colored part of the pump. If there is no access to this part then the oil is put in there by the manufacturer. I believe the small red plastic plug you speak of covers the overheat blow off valve. Just leave it. When you run the washer for a long time you may see some water spill out of there. The only way to change the oil is to separate the two pump sections. Not advisable without some knowledge and the correct tools

Hayward sand filter needs primed every time


The problem is a malfunctioning check valve. It'll be somewhere in the line on the pump output side. If it's not a separate fitting it'll be in the line, probably in an elbow.

Sounds like you may have gotten a bad tank of fuel. I don't know where you live but sometimes if the weather has been real rainy water will seep into the in ground tanks and then pumped into your tank. Disconnect the fuel line at the engine and pump out some gas into a clear jar. Let is seat for a few seconds. The gas will separate from the water and be on top. To fix this problem will require draining the tank and adding new fuel. There are products used to absorb water and make it mix with the gas so it can be burned off. On boats they use a water separator fuel filter just for this condition.
