Question about Vizio VOJ370F 37 in. LCD TV

37 Vizio shtting down at random

I worked with Vizio for over 9 months to get my TV resolved. The warranty dept dispatched the service company no less then 5 times replacing 1 of 2 parts. TV still did not work. Finally after bugging them every day I got my money back and they let me keep the TV. The tv needs replaced since the shut offs are gettiing more frequent andmore difficult to turn back on.

Can you list the modules that were replaced thus far without resolving the problem? Also, what exactly is the problem? Does the set work sometimes and not others?

If this set is under warranty you should return it to get it repair/replace
since it is less that 1 year old.

I was told by a service tech that my vizio tv model VT420M has a bad main board and that the board is not available. I have spoken with 2 more service companys and told the same thing. The set is 5 days...

I just now called vizio and read your request word-for-word to their technical support person.
They have been known to fix these sets out of warranty. Although the girl said that she wasn't authorized to make that decision.
She told me to have you call this number 877-698-4946 Tomorrow when their level 3 technicians were available. She says that when you call the 1st tier tech support person will then send you one to these senior techs who can make the decision to cover it under warranty. My personal opinion is that they will take care of you. They say the "squeaky wheel gets the grease" I would go ahead and squeak. There is a link I've provided below to help.

My Vizio TV (less than 1 year old) has green/red vertical lines on the left side when first turned on. They go away in 10-20 minutes.


Hello. If your POP (Proof of Purchase like store receipt) is less than 1 year old you have to contact Vizio immideately and setup appointment for authorized technician in-home service.
You might have problem with LCD Panel (or plasma whatever you have) that result of manufacturing defect and reveals itself only after several months of use. You still covered by manufacturer's warranty and you don't need to pay anything to get your TV fixed or replaced.
After warranty expiration replacing a panel generally cost more than buying new TV.
Act as soon as you can and don't try to fix anything by yourself.

There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If the TV is under warranty—whether the original warranty from the manufacture or an extended warranty purchased with the TV—call the company providing the warranty coverage and they will arrange to have your TV repaired at little, or no cost to you.


Since some brands will pay for your repair even if you're out of warranty, especially if they've heard of your problem before and it's a known issue. You should always contact the manufacture first for your full range of options. If they're willing to fix the TV for free, or at a reduced cost to you, let them!


If the TV is out of warranty, and you have the experience and you know what you're doing, you can fix the TV yourself. Purchase the service manual from the manufacture to get started. However, if you've never done anything like this type of repair before and you don't know where to start, I suggest speaking with an experienced TV repair-person.


If you decide to pay for out of warranty repair by a professional repair shop, the total cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor. However, be warned that the cost could be considerably higher.

All I am getting is a white blinking screen. Unable to get menu or anything else. The TV is only 9 months old. Unplugged from cable and still getting nothing.


For this problem which is not a DIY you need to return the TV for warranty repair or placement. There have been quite a few Vizio units with this problem.

I think that vizio know about this problem and in EU did a recall

Same problem, vizio 47" LCD TV, six month old


change out the LVDS cable (the cable that go from the control board to the main board) and it should resolve your problem. If your TV is still in warranty, call 1-877-MY-VIZIO and they will set up an in home repair for free.

32" VIZIO PROBLEMS


The main board is bad. I have seen a lot of TV has the same problem like you have. Replace main board will fix it. If you bought these TV from Costco and less than 2 years then they all still under warranty.
