Question about GE WSXH208A Front Load Washer

Washing machines staining clothes with a blackish stain

Suddenly my front loading washing machine is staining all my clothes.  It started when I put a load of whites with bleach in and they all came out horrible stained with this grayish, brownish, blackish stain.  I tried cleaning the black collar around door thoroughly but though it may have reduced the severity of the problem it didn't eliminate it.  Am going to try the 2 cups of vinegar run in an empty washer with hot water to see if that works and then maybe the same thing with bleach instead which are two things I read about but one sight my daughter looked up said to run an empty washer with detergent with bleach and not chlorine bleach but that didn't work at all.

My LG Front Load washing machine is leaving black streaks and smudges on my clothing. These streaks and smudges are ruining my clothes!

Hi,

There can be several things that can cause this problem. The most common are:

1. Fabric softener - did you switch brands lately?

2. Chlorine bleach - if added at the wrong time

3. A mechanical problem with the washer, like a leaky transmission leaking oil.

4. Rust staining, sometimes caused by the water being used in the machine.

Here is a link to a site that discusses this issue more in depth:

Yellow stains on my clothes

Check carefully inside the drum. There may be something coloured like a crayon jammed in there that rubs against your clothing.
You could also try purchasing a washing machine " Cleaning solution" from your local hardware store and putting that through a cycle to flush out the machine.
After that, if this persists, the next suspect is "the dreaded oil or grease leak" from machine bearings. That unfortunately usually means a complete machine stripdown and rebuild to rectify and may be unviable economics for you.

Random brown stains in random loads of laundry

Hi from Australia

Ok the problem with your washing machine is that there is grease and oil stuck in the machine and the oil will dribble out when you run the machine on a different cycle if you rince with cold water then the oil stays in there and the hot water lets a little bit out as it is stuck in the pipes of your machine ok the first thing is run an empty load on full hot water even the rince cycle with 1 cup of bleach nothing else let that go through the long cycle then do the same again with 1 cup of white vinger and 1/2 cup citric acid which you should be able to get over there or baking soda try that it will clean your machine and your pipes it is great way to keep it all clean by the time you have done this you should not have any brown stains
Have a great weekend

Brown stains on white clothes in front loading washer

The brown stains are likely coming from the felt drum seal. The OEM adhesive is tar based - and after time and use - breaks down.

You'll need a new felt seal - and the adhesive that is used should be silicone based... eliminating the brown streaks.

Ruining cloths, leaves black stain.

Black stains could only come from rubber part that is deteriorating. Need to check all hoses, rubber boot and at bearing seal.

Stains on clothes

Have you tried Calgon to get rid of limescale deposits? Also have you used any laundry bleach at any point, because it stays in the machine for ages and clothes come out with faded patches and bleach marks for weeks afterwards.
