SOURCE: u150 error?

This problem has been pissing me off for quite some time. My printer is brand new and rarely used. And the comments I've read about Canon reaction to this engineering problem has left me mystified. I will never buy another canon printer.
So ... with that said. I must add that after 3 tries at experimenting with the masking tape fix, I have finally found it to work! ... I tried several combinations of taping, with no success. What finally worked was adding 3 layers of standard electrical tape to the left and right sides at the bottom of the cartridge. Do not wrap it around the front or back, only along the sides. This is what i finally got to work. Good luck ... and boo to Canon for this one.

SOURCE: cannon MP510 printer has Error, - The type of print head

I solved this on mine by removing and reinstalling the print head.
1. Remove and set aside the ink cartidges (don't make a mess)
2. lift the gray print head lock lever that is to the left of where the ink cartridges go.
3. Lift out the print head out without touching the ink ports inside, the contacts on the back, or the print nozzles on the bottom. The print head is the grey thing with circular ink ports that seat the ink cartridges. there are good pictures in the PDF of the Easy Setup Instructions available on the Canon Printer website. Look under the printer, then support, then downloads: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0900002776/mp510_esi_us_v2.pdf .
4. Put the print head back in, lock the lever, reinstall the cartridges in the roper positions. And voila!
If this doesn't work you may actually need a new print head.

SOURCE: Cannon ipf710 - Hardware Error 03130031-4027

this code has to do with the carriage lifting position.
You have to check (on the right side of the machine) if a foreign object (paper) is blocking the carriage.
Then Check the encoder wheel and the encoder sensor.
The last you have to check is the motor that operates the lifting motor.

What is error code 2 on cannon camera sx210is

You can try a hard restart:

  1. Put fresh batteries in the camera but no memory card
  2. Double click the on/off button so the camera turns on, then off;
  3. Press the button again and, hopefully, it will start normally.

If this doesn't help, call Canon tech support. E-series error codes indicate hardware or firmware issues that need professional repair.

Hardware error message

Discussed this in chat, but I thought I should update here as well to make sure it gets in the knowledge base. Here is an article discussing this exact error message, with instructions to repair, complete with detailed images: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&dn=1080620 It may also be a good idea to clean the carrier guide rail and possibly lubricate with a couple drops of baby oil.

Cannon Printer mx320 error 5200 wont' restart

Error 5200 unfortunately is a Print head overheat error. Whatever you try to do to fix it will not work unless you replace the print and the main logic board. These two parts HAVE to be replaced as a pair to get the machine to work. However the costs are often more than the machine is worth. To be honest i would scrap it and by another. Its quite an uncommon fault but have seen it before (I am a Canon engineer)

Service error 5100

Try this to get rid of the error:

Service error 5100 is a carriage home position error.

Turn off and unplug the printer from the power supply.

Remove any paper.

Buy a can of compressed air from an electronics shop or computer store. Use the compressed air (Not a vacuum!!!) to blast out any dust bunnies, paper particles and debris. (Don't do this with the cartridges removed as you're likely to fill the printhead with air!!)

Use isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab (Qtip) to clean the plastic strip that runs the length of the guide rail (the metal rail that the cartridge carriage moves along), it may be contaminated with ink and debris.

Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges inside the cartridge carriage to ensure that they're connecting properly.

With the power off, carefully slide the print head (carriage) to the center of the guide rail. You should not have to force it! (There will be some light resistance but it should move quite easily by gently pushing on it with your finger.)

Close all the access doors, plug it back in, connect your USB cable and turn on the power.

As it runs through the initialization, the printer should sense that the carriage is out of position and automatically move it back to where it should be.

Good Luck.

I keep getting an error (81:01)

The problem refers to basically a paper jam. I thing your problem could however be the carrage movment. There is a special oil required for the carrage, but failid this use a very thin oil such as sewing machine oil. The trick is to not use too much oil, only a drop or two over the entire length of the carrage. Also needs to be oiled is UNDER the rail towards the back. Look carefully at the back of the carrage where it has the back slider. This rail needs to be clean and lubricated. Probable easier to clean and lubricate if you remove the encoder strip.

We keep getting a 03800500 2F-2F hardware error message on our Canon IPF 9000s printer. What is this exactly? We changed both heads an we keep getting this message. Thanks Louis

That is hardware error, if you have 1.2 or earlier firmware it can be a system bug that you fix updating firmware. Call Canon to get instructions on how to update firmware.
