Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Have 37'' vizio. 5 months out of warranty. No picture or sound. None of the butons on the tv or remote do anything. If I unplug it, then plug it back in, front light shows it is on, but all we see are wide vertical lines. Some black, some white, some gray, and some with thin multicolor lines. Someone said this is a board issue that costs more to fix than the tv cost new. Called Vizio. ''so sorry, out of warranty''. Nice company, nuh? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Power inverter inside this unit is usually the first thing to die! If you are experienced in repairing electrical EQuip. Remove back cover and check for burnt out capacitors and diodes on inverter which lower input AC and converts it to DC for this unit. If you look closely you will probably find the swelled or leaking Capacitors and smell Electr. soot.

Can you list the modules that were replaced thus far without resolving the problem? Also, what exactly is the problem? Does the set work sometimes and not others?

Thanks,

47" Vizio Flat screen HD LCD freezes up and remote will not work.

could it be Ch 9's digital signal is not broadcasting right? what is your refresh rate on your tv? 60 or 120hz? if its 120hz, then its more then likely the digital broadcast, if its 60hz I think its your tv can't keep up with their signal that may be at 120hz. Make since??

Vizio makes loud static noise, picture goes fuzzy.

You should check your home wiring and grounding. Also be aware of anything that has recently been turned on when this happens. Anyone using a microvwave, cell phone, or other appliance that might be causing the interference.
