Re: Clean behind the screen.

to packerfan. yesterday i did some thinking. i had the same problem w/ my toshiba 57". cobwebs in the viewing screen. i found the solution to be simple. take the front panel off. it's just held on by some clips. remove the black cardboard cover that protects the wiring. it's simple just w/ a screwdriver. attach a feather duster w/ duct tape to a 2 ft. dowel or longer if your arms are short.there are several places you can go up to dust. i found that if you clean 1/2 of the screen then the other 1/2 you should be done all tolled in about 10 mins. presto! my screen has never looked so good.too bad it's taken me 3 yrs. to figure it out. hope this solution works for you as great as it worked for me!!!

Cobwebs proscan ps56700 inside screen

It can be done from the front but from the rear is actually more easy and safe--removing front screen and frame entails some danger of damage to the screens.

I have over many years of outside/home service calls encountered this.

As a outside technician I want the quickest and safest way to do this.

With set unplugged simply remove rear cover:

Use a swiffer type duster to reach up and inside and gently get all the webs out(do not use force when against the inside of the screens) and if the handle is long enough you will be able to remove all of the webs.

Also when doing this you will see with cover off 3 large black lens at the top of the chassis above the circuit boards.

They are the light source for your picture--clean them with a lens cloth or a paper towel with Glass cleaner sprayed on it---Do not attempt to clean the mirror in the rear as it is a film material and is easily scratched.

If the lens were dusty/dirty and then cleaned the picture will be brighter and sharper looking----that should be done about one time a year.

Cob webs behind screen

The frame around the screen just pops off. Unscrew the plastic holders from the chassis frame and the screen will come off allowing you to clean everything inside easily. The "2" thin screens are easily cleaned and put back on easily also. Don't do what I did and think the screens go into the front slot of your plastic brace, they slide easily into the wider slot. You'll also be able to clean the dust from the reflector and guns with Windex. Much better picture after wards, trust me. You would be surprised how much dust may have accumulated on the lenses.

Cobwebs behind the screen of a 55" projection screen. How do I remove screen to clean the TV? I have a Mitisubishi WS-55809.

Hello morsec,

You will need to remove the screws on the back of the top half of the TV set. This will allow you to remove the top rear half of the TV and give you access to the screen. Make sure you do not break the mirror that is attached to the rear of the TV set. Clean the screen with a damp non-abrasive cloth dry with a dry non-abrasive cloth. When finish replace the back of the TV and tighten the screws to hand tightness.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,
