Question about Compaq Armada M700 Notebook
How do send monitor signal from a compaq armada m700 to my tv
Not familiar with this particular model but a lot of factors are involved here and it may not be possible depending on both the television capability, and the video hardware on that model of computer. However your question about how to SEND the signal is a simple answer but I have to first;
Assume you have the proper cable and the TV is on the proper input channel, your laptop is ON.
Now you need to locate the function key (Fn) on your computer keyboard.
I looked a bunch of photo's but could not see the exact keyboard layout.
The function key for most notebooks is the lower left of the keyboard and has an "Fn" on it.
Hold down the Fn key and press the corresponding F key that has a picture of a Monitor on it, usually it is F4 or F7, but could be any F key. This changes the output of the video to the external device. In a perfect world your TV at this point will light up with the video signal.
Usually hitting the F key again will change it to be both the notebook monitor AND the output device, hitting it again will reset it to normal.
If the Fkey does not seem to be changing it to the tv (and your TV is on the right input channel), reboot your computer with the TV attached and see if it comes up. If it does not, it is possible the video output on the computer is not enough to drive the television. this is entirely possible.
I just put a new video card in my desktop because the card I had in there (which was a good one) would not drive video to the TV.

It depend on what input your TV has the what output the laptop has.
Ideally you would connect over VGA cable. Your Laptop is very likly to have a VGA out put but if your TV is old it may not have a VGA input.
If not you will need to connect Via S-Video cable which all TV's & laptops have. Note that neither VGA or S-Video will carry audio so you will need a seperate audio cable if you want the sound to come through the TV speakers. This is normall just a wire with mini stereo jack on each end.
