There are several possible causes for this problem. Start the dishwater and listen for the opening of the soap dispenser. It should open just after the pre-rinse (depending on make and model). You should hear an obvious click when the door opens. If it opens too late, this could be a control timer issue.

The door could also be getting stuck against another object (basket for instance). Yet, another cause may be a clogged or defective pump. This can be checked by bypassing the door sensor switch (I use a pencil). Close the door almost all the way (or expect a very wet kitchen). Start the machine and observe the water flow. It should be very powerful and should hit all surfaces. If it is trickling out, you probably have a pump problem.

Soap is not rinsing out of my clothes. It has been getting worse and worse. Even if I use a tiny bit of detergent.

The obvious question is how do you know that it is soap? What washing machine is it? The biggest problem with most washing machines is that people use too much soap to begin with. I would go to a store and get a new t-shirt or something. Run the machine with nothing in it. Then put the shirt in and run it again without adding any soap. When it is done check the shirt for soap. There could be a build up on the inside of the drum.

How do you stop white residue on clothes

You are using to much soap. Today's washing machines are low water and today's detergents are concentrated. This is not Grandma's washer or soap. You only need a tablespoon. That is right a table spoon. So you need to run a clean cycle on your washer or if you don't have that cycle run a hottest water cycle with NO clothes or soap. You need to do this several times to get all the built up soap out of there. When you see no more suds you are done. Good Luck

Water drains into soap dispenser; how do you prevent this? Mildew smell!

Most home improvement stores sell a washing maching cleaner product - try this or simply run the machine on the longest cycle with 2 cups of bleach added directly to the drum to eliminate the smells. Also check around the seals on the door and drum - lint and small items can collect there and mildew. For the drain problem, ensure that you washer is level or slightly leaning back ( no more than just slightly) and this could fix the problem. If not that, the pathway from the dispenser to the drum could be clogged with dried soap - try flushing it with very hot water while it is open for at least 20 mins. Fill it up, wait to drain, and do it again. You can also remove the soap dispenser tray to clean and take a look behind it with a flashlight - refer to the manual for specifics on how to remove the tray. Good luck!

The soap container will not open during the wash cycle. The soap is still there after the whole cycle including drying is done.

Soap dispenser door does not open during wash cycle. it can be opened with the manual release.

close the soap door and put into diagnostics. most models you can do so by pushing heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal. let it do its test and if the soap door opens during the test cycle, most likely the soap door assembly needs to be changed.

After moveing to a new house our Bosch dishwasher is not washing the powdered soap out of the holder, then bakes on a nice film of soap on all of the dishes. When the cycle is done a fairly solid ball of...

its not soap, its calcium build up.The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

GE profile model GSD 4120y70BB the second soap dispensor does not open at the right time. When cycle is done and the door is opened the soap has just ran down. It is like it is opening to late.

Hi

Many dishwashers (but not all) use a BI-metal strip that heats up once power is applied to it. The BI-metal strip bends and allows the soap door spring to open up the dispenser. This bi-metal strip is not given full 120 volts power, the timer "shunts" the power through either the heating element ( most common ) or the motor and this gives the bi-metal strip lower than full power to work and open. Most often the bi-metal strip has lost its ability to bend properly and needs to be replaced. Older GE dishwashers used a mechanical arm driven by the timer to open the dispenser = no electrical bi-metals. Newer (plastic liner) Maytag dishwashers and many newer Whirlpool and Frigidaire dishwashers use a wax motor to open the soap dispenser; this wax motor does receive 120 volts to work. The plunger inside the wax motor slowly moves and pushes the plunger and door open. This is what a wax motor looks like.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

LG WM0642HW smells bad. We leave the door open when not in use to dry it out and air it out. But the smelliness is getting worse.

There have been lot's of reports of moldy door seals. Check your door seal at the bottom to see if it is holding water and not draining properly. Dry and clean with a bleach solution is it is. Front loaders don't always drain completely. WHen you start a new cycle the first thing they do is purge any water left from the previous one. This also causes a mold issue. Easiest solution is to do a stain cycle with presoak and add 2 cups of bleach to kill the mold. Obviously no clothes! Good luck!
