SOURCE: Removal of front cabinet panel of washer section

Should be two screws on each side of the bottom of the front panel. Takes those out and push the panel up and out. (There are two "tabs?" in the middle of the front panel that lock into the side panels, so you have to push up and then pull out.)

SOURCE: Kenmore Washer/Dryer Stack -- Need to replace Washer

first of all. comming from a Sears Technician.. (don't yell) -- the delivery drivers only know about delivering stuff. they dont know too much,
if the two are the same size they can be stacked.
sometimes have to rig something up
and yes, for that model the top is removed, clips go on the rear and screwed at the front.
in some areas it is sold seperatly as a stacking kit

My kenmore 98702 stacked washer/dryer washer lid does not stay open

Underneath the top unit (the dryer) there should be a spring loaded catch that holds the door open. See if it is gummed up and stuck or possibly broken off.

My LTE5243D top load stacked washer is about 10 years old. How do you take the front panel off to access the washer's motor coupling?

To gain access to the washer components, the front panel between washer and dryer must be removed first.
Remove the two top screws securing thethis panel to the unit.Tilt the transition panel down and pull itstraight out.Remove the two screws located behind the washer top.Pull the washer top forward to disengage the top locks. Disconnect the washer lid switch harness. Lift the washer top off the unit.Remove the two screws from inside the top of the washer front panel.Lift up on the front panel to release the catches near the bottom of the panel andremove the front panel.

I have a kenmore stacked washer/dryer. It's a top

Hello,

With the sympthoms your describing its sounds to me as if the timer is going to be the problem. IT could be a lid switch problem but since it does drain i can pretty much eliminate the lid switch,or even the motor and narrow it down to the timer.

Reply with the entire stack unit model number as found on a label inside of the DRYER door and i will give ya the part number for the washer timer.

How do I get the top up on a kenmore washer. I need to replace the lid micro switch.

Hello,

Their are 2 different ways to remove the top based on when that washer was made the manufacture used differnt methods this is how to do it on each style

remove diagonal panel between washer and control panel

in the back of washer top will either be 2 brass colored clips
or in the very back egde of top will be 2 5/16th inch hexhead screws

for clips place a small screwdriver in front of that clip and pop clips off and slide top forward

for the screws remove screws from behind top in the left/right corner..pull top forward a bit and lift up a little the plug for the lid switch will be in front right side..squeeze the release for that plug, unplug swicth plug then remove top

in both cases lid switch asm. will be on right side of top on the underpart of it

Kenmore 417.99980120 stack washer/dryer won't drain.

Check for a kinked drain hose. Also, if it is an older machine it could have something stuck in the drain pump. The usually culprit is an under wire bra
