Vistas has a high graphic reqiurment, this card may run vistas but it will not run efficiently even if it does, my suggestion is that go for a 64mb-128mb graphic card from Nvidia which will be able to run vistas smoothly, thses cards are also very cheap and would come under anyones budget.

So which video card do i need? i have 845gl motherboard . before installing this video card (rage XL 8mb pci) my pc plays videos and most 3d game very (even gta sanandreas) efficiently but now it is not...

Hi,

The ATI Rage XL 8MB PCI video card is a very old and low power video card.

PCI graphics cards are not as fast as AGP graphics cards so if your motherboard has an AGP slot (it's the slot closest to the CPU and is usually coloured brown) then that would give you better performance.

These days AGP has been superceded by PCI-Express but since your motherboard does not have a PCI-Express slot then the best graphics card for it would be something like this one:

http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/5416296/Sapphire-ATI-Radeon-HD-3850-512MB-DDR3-AGP-8X-Graphics-Card/Product.html

Hope this helps, please rate my answer :)

as long as your PCI slot is the same as the card it will work fine just make sure you install the drivers from the disk and not the OS

Choppy play with high quality video

A replacemnet video card would help some, but you still have the problem of the 440 mhz processor.

There is not a lot you can do about the processor outside of rebuilding the whole computer. If for some reason that is not an option for you, then yeah, a $20 video card from ebay might give some relief (if you know what to get.. AGP or PCI), but don't be surprised if your processor is just too taxed to render high quality video at the proper rate.

I need windows xp drivers of ati 3d rege lt pci graphic card

Give this a try:
1. go to http://ati.amd.com
2. Click "Support and Drivers" at the top of the page.
3. Under "Graphics Support" click on "Download graphics drivers"
4. You'll see 3 boxes, the first one is a list of operating systems. Scroll down and choose WIndows ME/ 98 under Legacy
5. Click Legacy in the middle window
6. Find the right model card in the 3rd window and click it.
7. Download the driver and try to install it.

THIS MAY NOT WORK, because the card is old and the drivers are not for XP (I'm assuming you have XP), but you should get an error message if it won't work.
