How to put in code?

I replaced the battery in my 2002 Honda CRV. The radio now does not work. The clock flashes and runs, but I cannot reset it. I can also retrieve the CDs, but cannot play them. I have been told I need to put in a code which I am looking to get. However, how do I put the code in once I get it? The error I am getting is C. Please help.
