Spark electrode screws wont come off

use wd-40 or p.b.blaster to loosen but it is very (very) common to have to use a grinder or a roto-zip-saw metal cutting blade top cut-off an electrode bolt. even high-end grills are not using nigh-quality, expensive stainless for an electrode bracket or a screw.

When cutting 18mm ply wood using a straight edge after a few centimetres the cut curves under the material even with a new blade. thank you

Unfortunately that is just to thick of material to cut with a jig saw blade. Plywood is made up of several layers and your blade is trying to follow the grain on one of them. You can try a metal blade and high motor speed low travel rate, but it will quickly heat up the blade and warp it making your problem worse if you don't stop often. If you are trying to make straight and curved cuts, I have the best luck with a rotary cutter such as the roto zip, but plywood easily snaps the bits.

Hi Al ,just read your posting. Now from the information in your posting you have removed the ROTO MOTOR from the machine is that correct? The roto motor has that blue impeller. If you haven't removed the roto motor then turn it anti clockwise and pull up to remove it.Once removed, remove all the water from where the roto motor was seated and check for sludge or old food. Make sure that the place where the roto motor was seated is clean and then replace the roto motor. Then try it on a cycle and see how it goes. please reply back and tell me how it goes and with the additional information.,

I have had similar problems in the past using my Roto-Zip on jobs. You may want to check the internal brushes in the machine have not been clogged with the dust from the ceramic tiles. The unit may have simply overheated from the stress of cutting the tile. This will also affect the brushes in the Roto-Zip. A can of compressed air may help clear any dust built up around the brushes. If they brushes are caked with to much dust, you may have to take the unit appart and manually clean the brushes. But, be careful because the brushes are spring loaded. Hope this information is helpful.
