Thanks. Appreciate the advice. On this unit where are the "drain holes". I assume outside, but on bottom, back, open holes? Is disassembly necessary to hose out the dirt? Thanks.

Ok what you need to do, get someone to pull the a/c out and clean it. it gets full of dust and it sticks to the coils the garden hose will clean it out. be sure to clean out the drain holes so the water will drain outside like it should. one more thing besure the a/c is tilting down to the outside so the water wont leak in your house. have a good day you can do ths.

the drain holes must be outside , or the water would leak in your house when the unit was new. most of them or about in the center on one side or the other. I have seen them in the rear also.so you can say look at the rear 1/2 of the unint for drain holes, in the bottom of the case!

My goldstar 6000 btu window ac is dripping into the house

Sounds like you're using it when the outside temp is cooler than the inside temp. when this happens, frost will build up on the condensor. Turn the unit off until the ice melts off with a shim under the unit tilting it back towards the outside of the window to drain. If it continues to drip after melting all the ice off and letting it dry out, you have a small leak in the condensor, (unit must be old or worn out) that the freon pressure has leaked out causing it to condensate more. A good checklist would be to check the level of the unit, make sure the coils are clean and not bent, the age of the unit and for small areas of corrosion or white marks on the condensor before replacing it.

Ac unit is leaking water out the front into the house whats the reason

Be sure you have the air cond tilted back away from the house. If you have a level, set it on top of the air cond and make sure the unit is tilted back by a half bubble. If you still get water in the house, the drain is stopped up in the unit and you will have to take it out of the window and out of the case and wash it out good.

Where is the drain hole on goldstar window ac my ac keeps dripping water inside the house

Hello, make sure the unit is tilted toward the outside a bit, if it is level the condensate will collect in the front and start dripping inside the house. Also, if the unit has a drain make sure it is clean so the water can drain out properly.

How do you get the ac to stop leaking water inside the window?

The a/c could be slightly leaning toward the inside letting the water drip in or the drain hole which allows the water to drip outside could be stopped up. Find the hole and blow through it with compressed air to unstop it.

Condensation water is not draining properly on Goldstar AC window unit and backing up and dripping on the wood frame and floor below the unit. Is something blocked it just started happening. I am going...

Yes,remove the ac unit from the window, and clean it out with a water hose out side, remove all debris from inside the unit, and tilt water out of unit.Make sure there is nothing in the way of the drain, and when the unit is put back in the window, make sure it has a very good tilt outward so the water will for sure flow outside, not in.If this was helpful, please rate, thank you.

yes the side vents need to be outside the window and if they aren't - the unit will not cool correctly.

Hope this helps.

I don't know how to uninstall my ac

have some one steady the unit while you raise the window a bit.carefull,it may want to fall out.pull the bottom of the unit in a bit.if that dosen't change the angle, like if it's sitting on a storm window frame too, place a wood plank between edge of sill & storm window frame to raise the inside bottom of unit a bit above the sill.it only requires a few degrees of tilt.

AC not cooling during the day

Your AC cooling efficiency is low when he ambient temperature is high and naturally it cools well when the outside temperature drops.

Please remove the filter on the grill and try to clean it under the tap water and after removing all the dust fix it back to the unit. This would increase the cooling efficiency of the unit.

Your AC is also five years old. Please avoid frequent opening of doors or windows.

Ensure that the exhaust fan and the blower of your unit are functioning normal.

The technician might not have done a proper job in fixing the area where the refrigerant would have leaked out. Please check the refrigerant pressure to ensure that no further refrigerant leak has taken place. Or even servicing your unit he would have punchered the tubes resulting in very slow leak of refrigerant resulting in no cooling or less cooling. It takes around a month to feel the pinch of it and the refrigerant. One fine morning after sometime the unit will run and it would start throwing hot air instead of cool breeze!
