Make sure cable sheath is securely mounted at both ends and sheath is not moving, just the cable.

How do i replace bar bolts on an husqvarna 45cc chainsaw?

The bar bolts on this saw are fed through the oil tank. Push out the damaged bar bolt. Wrap small gauge wire aroung the threads of the new bar bolt, leaving enough wire to feed through the hole for the bar bolt. Pull the wire until you can grab the bar bolt. Pull the bolt through the hole as far as possible. Remove the wire and use the bar nut to pull the bolt through the case. You will need to add washers to be able to continue to pull the bolt through until is set.

Honda hra 215 sxc mower- choke lever will not go far enough to get engine started - must be pushed manually - how to fix?

There should be a hex head screw holding the choke cable in place. Loosen the screw a little an move the choke all the way closed and pull lever on choke to the closed choke position and tighten the screw back. Just make sure it is not pulled so tight that the choke will not open back up. Hope this helps you.

The pull cord will not pull to start the trimmer

i had a problem like this on an old mower, the cord had become tangled inside the unit, it limited the pull of the cable so it would now spin the engine enough to start. it is not too difficult to to pop the top off the unit and check for tangles or knots

How to change chain on homelite chainsaw

Hi there,
First wear a pair of gloves.Locate the two nuts on the the bar side of the saw they will be on the motor at the base of the bar. There should be to nuts visable.Remove them and take off the plate. There will be an adjusting screw that you need two back off far enough to push the bar back and loosen the chain enough so that the bar and chain can can be lifted at the same time.I usely have the saw on its side with the bar suported on som 2x4s nailed togeather and layiing the same way as thy bar.Note that the teath on bar are comming toward you.Take the chain out of the grouve and clean the bar grouve with air, solvent and brush or screwdriverand inspect the bar.Look for blue spots, worn spots, sharp edges. If the is blue near the chain grouve I would get a new Orgen bar with a sprocket nose if you do a lot of cutting. If the the chain hasn't been slipping then just run the saw till it wears out.If you have to change it pull the spark plug pull the pistin until it startes coming up and at the 3/4 mark stop and add some starter rope through the spark plug hole till it stops going in and pull the starter rope till it stops.Smack the sprocket with a blunt object and it should loosen up.Sometimes it's better for a shop to do this. Just reverse this to put this back to geather but check your oiler and oil the grouve before you put your chain on.

How to change the back brakes

Center stand the bike, remove the rear drive axle nut and bolt , take out the spacer, spin the nut off the brake cable , and unbolt the long brake panel stopper bar at the brake panel . Now you should be able to slide the panel out of the wheel and remove it. If there is not enough room to remove the panel , push it back in to the wheel and grab the whole wheel sliding it off the final drive spline. Now roll the wheel back far enough to pull the brake panel out of the wheel and replace the shoes . Be sure to regrease the final drive spline with MOLY60 grease available at the Honda dealer before sliding the wheel back on.

My stihl 041 saw very old made in germany farmboss but very low hours on it. will pop and smoke a little but not start. When I pull on the starter and it almost starts it gets very hard to pull on rope -...

Answer to 2 year old question about hard starting saw. There is a seal that goes bad and leaks chain oil into the crankcase. This will make it very hard or impossible to pull the starter rope. To start the saw, pull the spark plug, stand the saw on it's end so the bar is pointed up and pull the rope 10-15 times. Replace the spark plug and start. It will smoke for a while. To stop this from happening, always store the saw with the bar pointed straight down.

Is the stop cable pulling back far enough to release the flywheel brake? You may have a cable strechted that needs to be replaced. If you can not find your model on line, get it to me and I will try to help..

When you take off the bottom case, and lift up the pcboard and lower touch screen, you'll see the ribbon cable connected there. It's held in place by a black connector that lifts up. Use something like your fingernail and life up on the black part until it releases (it shouldn't take too much pressure to lift it up. Once you do that, the cable pulls directly down and out.

Make SURE what when you put it all back together that you make sure to seat the ribbon cable back in there as far up as it will go. If you put it together and all you get is a bottom screen that flashes and it won't stay charging, I'm 99% sure that it'll be that connection isn't in there far enough.

I had to troubleshoot 2 of mine doing that recently. Found out that it was the cable that wasn't in there far enough. Once I put it in far enough, they worked like charms.
