Windows system restore will take your computer back to the settings it had before you first installed the mouse software. It should give you a list a restore points (dates) by date and by application that was installed on your computer over a period of months, possibly years (haven't tested that out yet). So everytime you install an application you have the option of undoing the install even if uninstall doesn't work. The beauty of it is that it doesn't change any of your documents, emails, personal data under your user files. I can only speak for Vista and windows7 OS. Can't rtemeber if XP has this - probably not.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Pairing code for Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000

Not really a code, just first press button on top of your receiver and then the button on the bottom of the mouse. The receiver LED should stay green when they are connected. If this does not happen check that you are using IntelliPoint Mouse Software. See more:

Can not get Microsoft 5000 wireless mouse to Pan in AutoCAd 09

Do you use the "hold middle click" way of panning? If so, check that in the Windows Ctrl Panel under Mouse, that the scroll wheel is set for middle click. Why this is not default on all new mice I do not know!

Microsoft notebook mouse 5000 Wheel scroll stopped

Fixing the wheel/scroll malfunction was as simple as a reboot. I usually shut down in hibernate. Apparently the system needed a complete reboot to reset.

Thank you for following up.

Assign a keystroke to the mouse, in this instance I assigned 'p' for pan (as per the .pgp file short cuts etc) against the scroll wheel click.

Click the scroll wheel, 'p' comes up on the cad screen, right click to confirm then the pan icon appears, hold the left mouse button and drag at your leisure. Yet to find a fix for Inventor.

Not ideal, but better than nothing at presnt.
