SOURCE: Janome 9000 willl not work when turned on

My Janome 9000 has always done that. I can prevent it by raising the needle when I first start the machine, getting it to sew quickly or raising the needle and letting the machine sit for a few minutes. I think my computer wants to warm up a minute. As you can see I.m not a technical person but it works for me.

SOURCE: presser foot lever does not lift presser foot

If you can remove the cover on the left side you will see the presser foot bar. On the bar there will be a screw that may be loose. Turn the handwheel until the needle is all the way down and lift the foot manually until just before it makes contact with the needle clamp and tighten the screw on the presser foot bar.
That should do it.

SOURCE: my presser foot lever wont

Make sure that your needle is in the highest position, turn your handwheel towards you, not away from or else you will mess up the timing

SOURCE: hello I have a singer model 4552

I have a used unit with the same problem. If you remove the plastic housing piece on the far left you can see how the foot lifter works. Raising the lever raises a collar around the main shaft. There is a screw in that collar which connects the collar with the shaft. If that screw is loose the collar will not raise the shaft. Caution: Tighten the screw very carefully, only enough so that the shaft lifts. I just overtightened and the collar has a crack now.

On my Pfaff quilt expression 4.2 the knee lift is not working

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with the knee lift on your Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.2 sewing machine. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Check the knee lift lever: Make sure that the knee lift lever is not obstructed and that it is properly positioned.
  2. Check the linkage: The knee lift mechanism is connected to the sewing machine via a series of linkages. Make sure that all linkages are connected and not broken or bent.
  3. Lubricate the knee lift mechanism: If the knee lift mechanism is stiff or difficult to move, try lubricating it with a sewing machine oil.
  4. Check for loose screws: Check for any loose screws or bolts that may be causing the knee lift mechanism to malfunction.
  5. Check the foot control: Make sure that the foot control is functioning properly and that it is securely connected to the sewing machine.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to take your sewing machine to a professional for repair.

Singer 7033, how do you raise the dog feed.

The feed dogs on the 7033 shouldn't drop down. This model uses a cover over the feed dogs when doing free-motion sewing. To remove the cover, raise the needle and presser foot. Open the slide plate over the bobbin by sliding it towards you. Lift up the front edge of the cover and pull it away. Close the slide plate and lower the presser foot.
Many Singer manuals are available here: https://www.singer.com/support . The current link to the 7033 manual is https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/fl_attachment/Singer-Website-Library/outdated_product/SINGER_7029_7033__7035_and_9410_Sewing_Machine.pdf . The cover is shown on page 8 of the manual. See page 12 for the picture of removing the feed dog cover.

I hope this helps. If the feed dogs are actually down and not covered, there is probably something broken in the sewing machine.

I have a Juki DU1181n and y corners when attempting box stitches. I am using a netted nylon fabric. When I reach a corner I lift the foot with the knee peddle and turn the fabric but I keep getting loose...

It is generally because you have not taken your knee completely off the knee lift.
Whenever you use your knee lift, it opens the thread tension and lets out more upper thread.
If you find out you are not leaving your knee on the knee pedal, try to only lift the foot as little as possible when you do your turn. I find out that when I am in a hurry I leave my knee against the knee lift as I am sewing and I have the same problem.
Good Luck. :)

What is a walking foot and what does it look like, please

There is a "fork" or straight bar on the needle-screw side of the foot that wraps around or sets on top of the needle screw. This fork/bar moves with the needle and causes the foot to pull fabric through the top, much like the feed dogs underneath.

Be sure you get a walking foot that will work on your machine!

When installing the foot, it helps to raise the presser foot bar as far up as it will go and that the foot is tilted slightly to slip in on. If you have a knee-lift bar, using it to lift the presser bar will sometimes give you just what you need to get it on. Do NOT bend the walking foot to put it on.

Why doesn't walking mechanism work?

if the pressor foot anvil doesn't move up and down /back/forth , the machine might be in "DARNING " mode this is usually a small button in the bobbin area , but some machines have them on the back of cabinet as well

The pressure foot will not raise up. I believe it is the spring that could be broke. I have a Singer 9117 How do I change it?

are you sure that the pressure foot as not been screwed in to far stopping the foot lifting, if that's found not to be the problem, the next stage is to completely screw the tension knob all the way you are then able to remove the spring.

How can I fix the knee lift that is very hard to push

how much srping tension do u have on presser ft. is the tension knob on top of machine screwed all the way down., never necessary by the way. next your arm attached to the knee lifter may be bent and not contacting the lifter bar for presser ft. get under machine and move knee lift with hand to see where contact is being made. bend accordingly. also the link from knee lift bar to link inside the back of the machine may be broken. u have to take off the back panel with all its screws. watch the gasket. you can replace the bar yourself since this will not intefer with the machine timing etc.
