Many devices have "sleep timers" to turn the appliance off after a period of time during which you have supposedly fallen asleep.
This setting is configurable. Break out your manual, or find one online to find out how to enter this setting.
You might also try your remote, looking for some button cleverly disguised as "Sleep", or some such. Might also be hidden in a configuration menu somewhere.

SOURCE: tv works like 10 min.then retrace lines appear,

the model number 53fdx....etc is not a Toshiba model number---It is a Hitachi model number.

First if it comes on and you get trace lines before it shuts off----does it just get very bright and if so does it get bright red, green, or Blue?

if one of the picture tubes or the circuit around them has a problem you can get this and the set will shut down because it detects something is pulling way too much current.

I would be happy to try to help you but look at back of your set for brand and model number and if possible try to give me a better idea of what the picture looks like before it goes out.

Red power lights blinks and tv will cut off. sometimes after you unplug it it will come on after about 10 min. now it will not come on unless you unplug it and then it will work about 5 min and cut off...

depending on the age of your tv, this appears to be a common issue. Blame it on the ballast board. your ballast might not be able to provide the lamp w/ enough voltage to keep the image on for longer period of times. or it could simply be that you need a new tv lamp.

Tv takes 30 min to cut on... but when it does no picture shows.

LOL sounds like you just need a new TV buddy, there are multiple components that are going out, first start with the green lines or "pixelations" these are caused by the tv no longer being able to regulate the electricity in those pixles and are as a result 'Open'. The 10 minute things is more of a energy conversion thing and sound and video on and off are connection issues (internally) so take it to a repair shop but if the price to fix is greater than 1,000 you should be willing to scrap it for a replacement. who knows the shop might buy it off you for cheap...

Good Luck

This is my Fav...
pricey though but can keep an eye on ebay for half price divorces.. :D

Sony KV32s22

Hi: Sounds like it might be an overheating part, and the short is shutting of the set. Or it could be an intermittent connection in the pc board. Either case it would have to be repaired by a expert.
sorry.
