Here is a link to the manual. It appears to me your set does not support closed captioning. It is too old. It mentions channel captioning, but that is for a channel identifier for reference. KV-27TS27

How do i remove subtitles for the deaf on jvc av278m5

Look for closed captions in the set and switch to off from CC1 which is the most common setting for this. If using a cable box look there also as many boxes have this feature also.

My sister is deaf and put the closed caption on then she put a movie in the dvd player and put closed caption on it now i can not get the closed caption off the tv please help me get it off please

You haven't specified nothing about your TVs model number or its brand name. Then how can I post a solution to you?. Every brand and model has its own procedure to set closed caption ON and OFF. So either send these details to me by FixYa or repost your porblem including all these details once more. Then only, anyone can post a solution to your TVs problem. OK.

By the numbers! How do I turn on the closed

there is no closed captions on dvds, you can use subtitles, very similar to closed captions. just load dvd
look into either extra features or subtitles

it would say "english for deaf/hard of hearing." or just plain english subtitle. either way, it works.

My Panasonic TV has a large rectangular black out. My Verizon Help thinks it is a problem with closed captioning and said I should contact you. He guessed right because my deaf son in law is deaf and he...

either with the original remote or the menu button go into the customer menu until you find the Closed caption section---you will find that TEXT has been selected(this will give you a black box in the middle of the screen) either move it to CC1 if you want closed captioning or to off or CC2.

If this helps you I would appreciate a vote from you here. if you need more help reply to this post and I will try to help.

Closed Captions won't work

make sure your dvd player has the capability to display closed captions, as not all of them do, also if it does have the capabilities, it may need a scart connection.
