You cant bypass toshiba bios password. U need to bring it to Toshibas Authorized service center. I think this model if free of charge eventhough not in warranty. To make sure , call 18004577777, verify if this model is free of charge.

SOURCE: Toshiba satellite A215-S5818 bios password

This should be able to be solved by opening the Ram bay and shorting out two solder points. Usually marked with a "xxx". The notebook should be started with these solder points shorted. Once the pc is on, it should go through the normal process without asking for a bios password. Once the pc is restarted, the CMOS password should disappear.

SOURCE: Bios Password

Hi there.
1. Turn the computer OFF, if it's on.
2. Remove the memory module cover, on the bottom of the computer.
3. Check the configuration of memory modules in the two sockets. It's necessary to have a memory module present in the outermost socket only.

  • If there is a memory module in only the outermost socket (the one farthest from the system board), then continue to step 4.
  • If there is a memory module in only the innermost socket, move it to the outermost socket.
  • If there are memory modules in both sockets, remove them both, then re-insert one of them into the outermost socket.
4. Carefully peel back the black Mylar film. Pull this film to the side enough to expose the B500 solder pads. Do not remove the film completely, because it may be difficult to re-attach it correctly.
5. Short the B500 solder pads on the system board. Needle-nose pliers or a flat-blade screwdriver works well to short them.
6. While continuing to short-circuit the solder pads, turn the computer on, and continue shorting the pads until the Toshiba Logo Screen appears. then remove the short.
7. Re-position the Mylar film over the system board.
8. If you removed a memory module, turn the computer OFF, then re-insert it.
9. Re-attach the memory slot cover.
10. turn on computer, if it boot password has been removed.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

My Toshiba satellite a215-s7416 is asking for a password upon startup, i dont know what the password is. The screen looks like this: (http://www.r-obi.de/paperclip/locked3.png). How can I guess or remove...

Remove the ram cover, with laptop switched off
Remove the 2 ram modules and insert one in the slot that is furthest away from the motherboard
Just underneath the ram is a thin plastic sheet, gently peel back to reveal two solder contacts
they should say B500, TOUCH THESE WITH A FLAT BLADED SCREWDRIVER while powering on the laptop, the bios password should go.
Replace ram and sheet, replace ram cover reboot.

Password reset

That could be a bios password or a hard drive protection password. If it is the bios, you should click on F2 while laptop is in the boot process, and see if it will go into the bios. If it will, you can reset the password there as long as you know what the old password is.

If it a hard drive protection password, you should be able to reset it in the same screen that is asking for it. Again, you have to know what the old password is before you will be able to change it.

My Toshiba A215-S4747 Crashes every time I move it.

This sounds like the Toshiba Blacvk Screen of Death issue with early A215 models. Re-boot and hold down the F2 key to bring up the BIOS screen. If your BIOS version is less than 1.9, you must update the BIOS.Go to the Toshiba support site and search by model. If your BIOS is ver. 1.9 or later, then go to the power opetion settings and set BOTH the minimum and Maximum power to 100% for BOTH battery and AC. That will fix this about 90% of the time.
