Question about Sony Handycam CCD-TRV37 Camcorder
Guys hope you all found the solution like me who had same issue. if you
noticed, it says about the aspect ratio and that means the formated
disc aspect ratio is not compatible with the aspect ratio your camera
need. so re-formating the dvd with right aspect ratio solved the
problem quickly and we have peace.

According to the manual, "movie recording disabled" means you cannot record due to limitations on the disk. I'd say most likely you have a bad disk in, or one that was already used for something else.

SOURCE: recording disabled
This is just one of those problems that come associated with this type of camcorder. Try recovering the data by downloading the program at the following link and trying to fix this
problem with it. Please let me know how this goes and if it doesn't
work let me know as I would be glad to keep trying to get this fixed. I don't believe you did anything wrong but I would call Sony about this and see if they have any new suggestions for this. Personally I would return the player since the quality isn't as good as other cameras.
