Question about Danby DKC645BLS Compact Beverage Cooler

Open Question

Actually have the DAR604BLS - Danby Silhouette - looks like the plain fridge version of above pictured beverage fridge. Electronic digital display on front. Unit stopped running. Display reads interior temp of 73 degrees, controls allow the temp to be turned down but the fridge does not start up. Makes absolutely no noises or any sound that makes it look like the compressor is even trying to start. The unit is only 9 months old, but they won't cover any of the 24 month warranty because I did a mod to the fridge by mounting a beer tower through the top. The tower goes no where near any electronic or cooling components. Unit functioned with tower for the 9 months so far.

SOURCE: Danby Beer Keg dispenser fridge.

Draught (or Draft) beer is almost always un-pasteurized and therefore is more fragile. It should be consumed after being "tapped", and is generally truer to the flavors of the ingredients as pasteurization exposes the beer to heat and changes the flavor profile. Always use brewery approved beer line if you want to have foam free fresh tasting beer. Serving it through a plastic tube from the hardware or discount store or the plain vinyl tubing in your beer tap system you will wind up with a foamy, off tasting beer. Real draught beer is not pasteurized. It must be kept refrigerated between 35F. and 44F. A beer will become wild, turn sour and cloudy in a day or two. Below 44F. a keg of draught beer should last 20-30 days before it loses it's fresh brewery taste and aroma. Craft beers (micro brews) tend to have a shorter shelf life and you should contact the brewery for their recommendations. Why does my beer foam up? The 3 most often causes of beer foaming up are: The temperature of the beer keg The balance of the draught beer system pressures The cleanliness of the draught beer system I would suggest that you clean or replace the beer transport tube...

SOURCE: how to reset the temperature on the danby silhouette wine refrigerator

This happened to me, I found that the cooler would not go below 70 degrees because the cooler had lost its coolant or wouldn't work. I do not know, but as it was under warranty, an appliance repairman came and said that it was worth fixing, so it was replaced with in a week. Normally you would just hole the button in until the desired temperature is selected. Once released the cooler would attempt to set this temperature. If it is not, then I suspect it too is broken. Good luck.

Purchased in 2010. Temperature doesn't fall below 55F. Fan works. Sounds like compressor is working. Haven't physically inspected compressor. Used to cool to 39F.

May be both. Is the evaporator blocked or have ice built up on it? If so there could be two reasons for that. Low on freon or not enough airflow inside the cabinet.

We just received our Danby 35 bottle wine fridge with digital temperature display, and cannot turn off the light.

Hello,
I found the users manual for your Danby! You have erroneously called it a 35 bottle unit, when in fact it is a 50 bottle unit. Click HERE for you manual. In the manual, it says you can use the light manually or automatically. There appears to be a switch on the bottom of the unit. I suggest the manufacturers manual for it holds a great deal of information that can be of assistance in the future, as this is a discontinued model
Good Luck, and I hope this is the answer you are seeking. Please rate and comment, Thank You Joe
