Re: retrieving pictures from my memory card

This is actually very simple.. With your camera you should have also got a data cable which can be plugged into a PC USB port and the other end into the camera. Do this and then switch on the camera; switch on the camera and windows should detect a new device.

click on "start" and then "my computer" and look for it under removable storage; double click on it and look in the folders.. when you find the photo's if you want to move them to your folder "my photo's" do the following...

Click on "start" again and then "my pictures", go to the folder with all your pics and at the top click on "edit" then "select all", "cut"... go to the "my pictures" folder, right click and the "paste"

Thats it!

My built-in memeory is full and I am not knowledgeable or unable to download or retrieve them for the camera. These are very important pictures and I don't want to lose them. Would appreciate ANY help...

Hello , are you try connect with pc already? if you can connect, then you can retrieve from that, if not, try remove your memory card , and using card reader to get the picture from memory card. Other solution, try on your camera without memory card and switch on and try connect using software that came with your camera.

Hello, i took some pictures a few days back, but theres some problem while retreiving some of the images....the image for the particular pictures having problem shows a blue blank screen with file...

Best way is to download the pictures to a computer through a card reader (optional). The blue blank screen could be deleted images using the garbage can icon. Retrieving those images can be done but it cost to have a recovery program used and there is no grantee that the images can be extracted because the card my have been written over or formatted. Once you have your images saved to a computer the memory card should be loaded bak into the camera and the memory card formatted to give a clean working surface for the camera to write new files to.

Format and retrieval

Hello there Danika,

You can install a utility software to recover the pictures from a formatted memory card. Just install the link below, its free and effective:

Then hookup your camera to your computer. The system will recognize the device. Then run Recuva software and choose to recover the drive letter for your camera. It has an easy step by step process and you can even restore the pictures to your computer or back to the camera's memory card as well.

If you need further assistance, please let me know.

Accidently formatted memory card-seem to have lost pictures that were on it

Hello Dear,
There is no internal memory present in any of the Canon Cameras but you can take your Card to a data recovery expert and your photos can be retrieved 100%.
You are suggested not to use this card any more, as if over written there will be NO chances for Data Recovery.

Memory card formatted in error

Once the memory card is formatted, the files saved or pictures will be deleted and there is no way to retrieve the images.

I would advise that you transfer the pictures first to your PC before formatting the memory card.
