SOURCE: password forgotten

What you need to do here is to get the Wireless security from your Linksys router by accessing its setup page, Just type http://192.168.1.1 on the address bar of your working computer then that should be asking you for a username and password, just leave the user name blank and type admin for password. If you're already on the router setup page you will see there Wireless tab just go to it and after that go to Wireless security sub tab under wireless and you can find there the wireless key that you need..

If that wont work contact me back for further help....

Don't forget to rate the solution FIXYA thank you...............

Hi i want to change my password on my Huawei router. how do i reset it . Thanks

To reset the password on your Huawei router, you can follow these general steps:
  1. Access the Router Settings:
    • Connect your computer or mobile device to the Huawei router via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.
    • Open a web browser and enter the default IP address of the router in the address bar. The default IP address for Huawei routers is often "192.168.1.1" or "192.168.0.1". If these addresses don't work, you can check the router's documentation or look for the default IP address on the router itself.
    • Press Enter to access the router's login page.
  2. Log in to the Router's Configuration Page:
    • On the login page, enter the username and password. The default login credentials are usually provided on the router or in the documentation. Common default usernames and passwords for Huawei routers are "admin" for both the username and password fields.
    • Click on the Login or Sign In button to proceed.
  3. Navigate to the Password Settings:
    • Once you are logged in, find the settings section related to Wi-Fi, Wireless, or Security.
    • Look for an option named "Password," "WPA Key," or "Pre-Shared Key" to change the Wi-Fi password.
    • If you want to change the router's administration password (used to access the router's settings page), look for an option like "System," "Administration," or "Management" settings.
  4. Change the Password:
    • Enter your desired new password in the appropriate field.
    • Make sure to choose a strong and secure password that includes a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters.
    • Some routers may require you to re-enter the new password to confirm it.
  5. Save the Changes:
    • After entering the new password, look for a "Save," "Apply," or "Submit" button to save the changes.
    • Click on the appropriate button to save the new password.
  6. Test the New Password:
    • Disconnect any devices currently connected to the Wi-Fi network.
    • Reconnect the devices to the Wi-Fi network using the new password to ensure it is working correctly.

Huawei E8231s-1 Password Doesn't Work

Passwords find a way to not work! Or, in most cases, users find a way to forget them! In either case, look up the "How to Reset the Huawei E8231s-1 Router to Default Settings" section below

Forgot Password to Huawei E8231s-1 Router

Incase if you have changed the default username and password of Huawei E8231s-1 and forgot it, Please see "How to Reset the Huawei E8231s-1 Router To Default Settings" section below

How to Reset the Huawei E8231s-1 Router To Default Settings

Incase if you have changed the default username and password of Huawei E8231s-1 and forgot it, It's more like magic, I'd say! Press the reset button with a pin or something that gets through the tiny hole, and hold it for about 15 seconds! (till you see all lights flickering) Your Huawei E8231s-1 router shall be reset in no time, and you can start from step 1 in this guide to set it back up How to boost Huawei E8231s-1 Wifi and overcome connectivity issues:

1.Place the Huawei E8231s-1 in a perfect spot

The perfect spot does it all; be it romance or your router! To avail the best signal and network connectivity, make sure you keep your Huawei E8231s-1 router visibly and not facing the wall or behind the curtains

2.Find a Good Wireless Channel Instead of Auto on your Huawei E8231s-1 router

Auto channels might fail you once in a while; believe that you're smarter than the Huawei router! Find a seamless wireless channel instead of what the router finds automatically. This would ensure that your signal does not interfere with that of your neighbors.
If you're running a Windows-based PC, you can see what channels neighboring Wi-Fi networks are using.
-Press Start > type "cmd". Open Command prompt
-In command prompt type netsh wlan show all
You will see a list of all wireless networks and the channels being used in your vicinity. instead of using "Auto" for the control channel, Pick the channel that has the lowest interference

3.Check the frequency of Huawei E8231s-1

Check If Huawei E8231s-1 has dual-band, the more commonly used band would be 2.4GHz; however, switching to 5GHz would bring out better results! It depends on your device though; if you're running an old lad, you might have to switch back to the conventional.

4.Hardwire gaming consoles / media streamers into your Huawei E8231s-1 instead of wifi

Gaming consoles/media streamers work better when connected through Ethernet cable of Huawei E8231s-1; in fact, as you might not be moving your TV all over the house, why connect it to the Wi-Fi at all? The gaming consoles / video streaming devices flood the network with data. This means that if possible, you should consider hardwire (using Ethernet cable) the devices that tend to consume a lot of bandwidth. Although this can sort of defeat the purpose of having wireless network, but it can actually help your overall network speed of Huawei E8231s-1 if you can hardwire the bandwidth hogs.

5. Reboot Huawei E8231s-1 on a schedule

Here is something important to note! On schedule, folks, reboot your Huawei E8231s-1 router! Though routers are built to constantly be running at all times, simple tweak like regular power cycling (a fancy way of saying unplugging the power cord and shoving it back up) helps with most issues. Rebooting your Huawei E8231s-1 can fix Internet connection problems, improve slow moving connections and resolve wireless issues altogether. Try unplugging your Huawei modem on a quarterly basis to stay proactive (Never reset, always reboot modem)

WIRELESS GATEWAY

How to View or Change Your Wireless Network Password

Symptoms:

You have lost or forgotten the password to your wireless network
You have lost or forgotten the password for the router, access point or other network device
You left the default password or used a weak password and someone has hijacked your network

Depending on the router, you can either view or reset the wireless network password (also referred to as the passphrase or security key) if you can log into the router. Some routers mask the wireless network password, so while you cannot recover it, you can enter and save a new password.

If you cannot log into your router because you have forgotten the router password or your network has been hijacked, please refer to "Lost or forgotten password for router or other device" below.

To view or reset a wireless network password:

Launch your Internet browser and type http://www.routerlogin.net in or http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 the address field for your browser. Enter the router's username and password.
The default username is admin, the default password is password.
From the left-hand navigation menu of the Router administration interface, select Set Up > Wireless Settings
Note: On some routers this option will be under BASIC > Wireless.
From the center screen, you find the current wireless security settings under the Security Options heading.

If the wireless network passphrase is visible, review it and use it to log devices onto your network.
If it is not visible, you can change your wireless passphrase; however, changing the passphrase will cause you to lose your wireless connection. Connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable before entering a new passphrase into the text box and clicking Apply.

Read more about Securing your Wireless Network.
If you cannot log into your router:

- If you were routed to the NETGEAR website or getting the "Page cannot be displayed" message when trying to login to router, make sure you are connected to the NETGEAR router. Check your wired connection and make sure cable is securely plugged in and LED is on. If wireless adapter is on, make sure you are NOT connected on a different wireless network.

- Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default access information to reconfigure your router settings. NOTE: Restoring factory defaults on a device will erase any customizations you have made. You will lose any configurations saved to the device!

Do I need to change the password on this product if the password for my wireless network is changed?

I am assuming you are using it as a wireless bridge to connect wired devices to your wireless network. If that is the case, then yes. You must change your key on all wireless devices (including your bridge) if you change the key to connect to the access point.
