Have you tried to put the card in a card reader and connect it to your computer? Card readers can be purchased at just about any store that sells electronics or camera supplies. They cost around $20 or less. You put the card in the card reader, attach it to your computer and click on start and then my computer. You should be able to see something that says digital media or mass storage. Highlight that and that right click. It should give you the option of formatting the card. It will erase everything and format it for you. Then you can try it in the camera. If this doesn't work then it should be looked at. Good luck

Sounds like you didn't use the "safely remove hardware" function when you removed the card from the camera and corrupted the card. Now, your camera doesn't recognize it. If the pictures have been downloaded to your computer, why are you hesitating to format the card in the camera? Sure, this will erase it but it will also return it to usability

Unfortunately, once you format the disk, the pictures are gone. Formatting erases everything and gets the disk ready to receive more pictures. Sorry to have to relay the bad news.

Yes, formatting the card will erase all the pictures on a card. Formatting initializes the card with an empty file system, which can be useful when a card becomes corrupted.

yes Formatting will erase everything on the card. The 2 cameras probably use different formats or even different qualities. You should upload pictures before switching the card between cameras. Hope this helps
