Question about SanDisk Sansa MP3 Player

1 Answer

I just was using my mp3 and it shut down. I just thought it needed recharging so I connected it to my PC but it hasn't done anything since. I can't get it to reset as per manual directions. It is just blank. What can I do with it?

When I try to remove my Portable Drive, it tells me I can't because "Generic volume" device is in use. I can't figure out what I have running that needs to be shut down.

This sometimes happens when a file hasn't shut down properly. The data may be on the drive OK but the drive hasn't reported that the job is done. YTou'll just have to see what apps are still running and close them down one at a time until you can rem,ove the drive.
You may end up shutting down the computer in order to do it.

Speedo aquabeat 3g mp3 player is not charging. The LED light turns to green, but when I unplug it it won't work.

You are plugging the headphones into the unit and then trying to power up the unit, correct? The Aquabeat will not power up unless the headphones are connected to the unit and disconnecting them will shut the unit off.

i am not sure what battery your player uses but i would replace the battery for sure. The company is
www.kobian-inc.com but there site is down right now.
you may be able to call them on the phone and request a new battery tell them your player hasn;t been right from the start.

Sony Walkman mp3 not charging (Red exclamation mark)

The player's battery is recharged while the player is connected to a running computer. It takes about 4 hours to fully recharge.
While the player is connected to the computer, do not turn on, restart, wake up from sleep mode or shut down the computer. Doing so may cause the player to malfunction. Disconnect the player from the computer before performing any of the above functions to the computer.

No connection

Make sure that the MP3 player has a fresh battery if it isn't a rechargeable battery through your USB port. Second, try switching the cables from 1 USB to another. If that doesn't work, plug it into the USB and shut down the PC and restart it. It very well may pick it up from that point.

Must boot 2 times to reach internet.

Just a thought...got to Start->Control Panel->Power Options

What are the settings? Is anything shutting down after a short period of time?

When it's disconnected, can you manually reconnect? Have you tried that before rebooting?

What kind of router are you using, have you modified it's settings in any way? I have some other thoughts, but maybe you shoudl answer these questions first.

Hold the power button down and the UP volume botton at the same time to reboot it.
If that fails youll have to le t the battery die and recharge it, that will reset it.

Everytime I plug my Sansa e250 in it freezes

You can press and hold the power/menu button for 20 seconds. This will force the player to shut off. Restart it, if you are still having problems, try the following. Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted. http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool. - Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer. Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted. Best of Luck.
